Hello all. Well, I'm not a Marauder owner so I hope I'm welcome here.
I saw one yesterday on 295 North around Penns Grove NJ. Beautiful car!
How do you like them so far?

It's what stangs become when they grow-up and mature. :)
Maybe a bit slower, but oh they know comfort.

I have not had a chance to see the interior in person yet. I was telling my Dad about them and he seemed like he wants to go look at them.
Also seeing that the wife and I are talking about having kids, a Marauder would probably be a very acceptable replacement for the Mustang if I have to go that route.
I'm assuming the aftermarket is starting to pick up on the Marauders?

Fast01....You are on the right track with that thinking....I could have gotten a 2003 Terminator Mustang, with bitching about having a 2 door with 2 small kids from the wife....OR.....getting the Marauder, which is a 4dr family car, with a 5 star crash rating, and those cool car seat brackets on the rear deck lid, now thats what i told her and im sticking to it! But seriously, its a nice family car when you have the family with you...but at night under the lights with guys drooling over it when you are on your own....it really is the best of both worlds. I never imagined the car having such an imposing, menacing appearance to others!
fast01gt,
I needed enough room for 2 child seats and mother-in-law in the back. I must have test driven 50 different automobiles. Nothing was big enough in the back seat and trunk to meet my requirements except a mini van or an SUV, which we currently had and we were tired of feeling like bobble head dolls. Then to my pleasant surprise came the Mercury Marauder.
I thought my wife would hate but begged her to take one for a test drive. She did, and to my surprise loved it.
We’ve been very happy with our choice. In a world of nondescript cars this one stands out. Not a day goes by that I don’t get a compliment on it. Plus it is fun to drive and very comfortable. The only down side is that it is ***** to park in the city but I can live with that.
Tip, when mother-in-law is in the back fade the speakers to the back and drown out her voice. Works like a charm.

Fast01GT,
I came over from a 01 Cobra Vert, my "mid-life Crisis" car according to my wife anyway :D ... The MM has real comfort, space, and style... I see a lot more Cobra's running around Atlanta than Marauders if you want to be different from the crowd... Plus it's a real stealth car that doesn't attract "unwanted" attention... The aftermarket is just beginning to get going on the Marauder but has a healthy start due to the Cobra's and other Mod Motors out and about....

Thanks for the info. We don't want to get rid of the Stang unless we have to. We also have a Nissan Xterra which could be used as the family truckster.
My real concern with the Mustang is safety. I have a 9 year old from a previous marriage and he has to sit in the back because he is not big enough for the front seat yet.
God forbid i get rear ended or in any accident and he can not be reached. Another thing is, the car is quite loud. Especially in the back seats as they are right over the mufflers. Yes I could go back to a stock setup, but personally I like how the car sounds.
I'm 35 so I guess I can still have a "boy racer" car but the idea of having a family car that is powerful and does not attract unwanted attention from the local law enforcement or the ever anoying rice boys is quite attractive.
Granted, the time to make this decision is some where down the road. I did sign up on the board because I like the MM and after browsing a bit saw quite a few car enthusiasts on here.
Same reason I signed up on LS1.com and other similar boards.
Even if you do not drive the same vehicles, enthusiasts tend to share tips and tricks and generally strike up good car conversation.
Is Mercury planning to continue production in 2004 or is it a limited run for 03?

Fast01Gt,
The Marauder is supposed to continue on for the next few years.. this is not like the Bullit or Mach1 Mustang one year collectibles..

Thanks.
The Mach 1 auto version is still delayed due to production problems
