My rear axel is modified with a 4:10 gear and Auburn posi. When I go to parallel park it, it makes some clicking noise. I was told it's fine, but it just needs to be lubed with something GM makes. Is it really just that simple or could I be breaking something? This is only made when I park. Driving is fine, but taking narrow corners is also causing noise.

I was told that you need to use non-synthectic oil and friction modifer in the Auburns to keep 'em quiet...

The auburn cone does not need friction modifier like friction clutches do, from my understanding.

It is even on their website:

I was told this when looking at different carriers for my car as I was thinking of an Auburn that someone was selling for a good price.

Ok good to know, I am installing an auburn in another car next week.
By the way, use real Ford additive only. I have been using CRC branded (trans X) posi additive from auto parts stores, and it does not prevent chatter even in the stock diff.

Interesting. I have the Auburn posi w/ the friction modifier. No problems, it hooks both tires at WOT & doesn't chatter on slow/tight turns. You might want to change fluid and additive consistent with the Auburn site instructions.
