what would you recommend the motive 4.10' or the ford racing 4.10's. Also what posi traction brands are well known and good..

Try Yukon gears. Otherwise I think Motives may be better than the new stock of FRPP gears. in the past it was FRPP all the way but they changed suppliers apparently and while still strong I hear it's harder to install them quietly.

You currently have a 28 spline axle setup with a Ford Trak-Lock limited slip differential. An upgrade may be an Auburn or Eaton diff, going to 31 splines is doable too 07 CVPI axles are 31 spline now.

Unless you had a problem I'm not sure I'd bother going to 31 spline if you're otherwise stock power-wise. It couldn't hurt and good if you plan to get more power but if you only plan minor upgrades there are better ways to spend money, the 28 spline setup will work fine with moderate power levels. I have 45k total, 20k of that with 450+hp on my stock 28 spline and traklok rear. YMMV
(and I'm knocking on wood) but if your car has stock power levels you probably will run fine on the oem setup just swap out the ring/pinion.
