Do anyone else's wiper blades chatter as much as mine? The dealer tells me it's a problem with the newly re-designed blade and is happening on not only Marauders, but 2003 Grand Marquis', Crown Vics and Town Cars...he sez Ford knows about the problem and is working on it...check back in a month...
Comments?

I'm running trico 22" blades, to heck with the factory blades. One of my factory blades has a 5 inch separation where the rubber is bonded to the frame. It's too dangerous to drive with bad visibility to quibble over these minor annoyances.

Funny- just test drove on Saturday here in Northeast- in pouring rain- And one of the first things I noticed was the cheezy wiper blades. They look like the old Arco blades on my Chevelles. I didnt notice any hop- and it was pouring- but then again I only drove the car fro a few minutes

Are you saying that conventional Trico 22" blades fit on the arms properly? If so, I'm off to my parts store for a set...I'm not waiting for Ford to dick around with something that wasn't broke in the first place.
Thanks...

Wipers? Isn't that what the supreme deity invented RainX for? :)
With multiple applications of RainX even in light drizzle the stuff falls off of my windshield.

Yeah, mine chatter too... So I rain-x'd the windshield and just don't use em.
I'll post the part numbers tomorrow or tonight, they are at home. I went to a NAPA store, and they did not even have Y2002 catalog for wipers, and what they looked up for me was for a Y2001 Grand Marquis, which did not work. The latch on the adapter would not snap over the new style side-pin mounts on the arms. I had an unused blade from my Lincoln LS which I had tried and it worked, so I crossed that blade part number from a 24" blade down to a 22" blade at the same store and got what appears to be a good fit. The thing about these blades/arms is that they have a 1/4" pin from the arm, and only the center of that pin's length is machined down to the smaller size (maybe 1/8"), where on older apps, the pin may have the opposite grind, where the middle is thickest and the ends are smaller in diameter. If your parts jobber has 2003 literature, and possibly even 2002, they should be able to look up the right blades. (blades that fit, that is...you won't see anything like the MM has from the factory as best as I can speculate) The blades will have the traditional suspension components in their construction, not that new curved spring metal thing with a blade of rubber bonded on. I can tell you that the increased wiper arm height off the windshield (due to added blade suspension components) did not affect the cleaning ability on my windshield. And I use Rain-X also, but when the car is not travelling fast enough to make the rain drops fly off, my wife prefers the wipers. I avoid them (and slow roads) at all costs, whenever possible.

Or change the wheels, or drive like realllllly slow because of the slippery conditions.
Good luck, a friend of mine drives his 95 impala ss with a whole new set of wheels, just to make it safe.
I,d like to know what u find of what fits.
I'll be in the market next winter of 2003.

PIAA has some new silicone blades available at the tirerack. I have no idea how they do, and since they don't have refills and I am running 9C1 cop wipers, I don't plan on trying them.
Might be a nice upgrade though for you guys. Pretty pricey though. araound $40-50 a set if I remember right.
Here are the NAPA part numbers for wiper blades. Trico makes the NAPA branded wiper blades. I think that I bought Teflon blades and their NAPA part number is 60-2240.
