Stopped in to the body shop today for my weekly visit with my Marauder. They've got the suspension all fixed. Needed a new front cross-member, new power steering a-s-sembly (lousy bad word filter), new shock and upper arm and related pieces. I checked their part numbers against the numbers I got from you folks here and elsewhere and they put all the right pieces on. It looks really good. They'll wait to align it until everything else is done, of course, but at least my car can stand on its own feet again.
No body work has been done yet. Still waiting on replacement doors, front fender, rocker panel, etc. from Ford. Hopefuly that stuff will arrive soon. Every panther platform car I see on the street makes me jealous. :)
Anyway, just wanted to update y'all on my progress. We're getting there, slowly but surely.

Sadly, no. I'd love to, but the finances just aren't going to allow it to happen. I hope to make some Marauder get-together at some point, though. For now i'll just have to read the posts and look at the digital photos from the rest of you. So document the event well, please. :)
Wow, that sounds like progress. I hope they do a quality job and your back on the road quickly. P.S keep the updates coming and do you have a digital camera ?

Fourth==As you know --I too- Had the miss fortune of a wreck back in March this year--how well I remember-- you and all the other's well wishes-- anyway--I , if anyone , know what you are truly going thru watching your MM in the body shop -even Todd
(TAF) stopped by once at my body shop and couldn't believe it--anyway--as I as saying--I can feel your feeling more than others--I remember how I looked for her in my garage --she wasn't there- WOW- what a shock--so--I know your feelings--believe me--and when it comes time to sit in her again---it's like the first time all over again-except this time -----------------------------------------
IT'S MOD CITY BABY--CAUSE SHE WAS ALMOST TAKEN AWAY FROM ME!!!
Excuse me-=-thoughts from my own experience--which by the way--has been driving me forward in my pursuit of more thrust fun..anyway--
Realize that you own T H A T Marauder--the one everyone eyes and stares at and talks about--even at the body shop--this tells you- " Oh yeah--It's mine--and you don't know it till I walk over and tell you either--DO YOU- STUPID?-- Then and only then do you realize --you R U L E and all others there are so envy of what you have ==even though you have been without her for weeks---( IT's AN OWNER THING) ----
Does this about sum it up from your visits???
Yeah -- I thought so--Like us all- we love this car--we don't know really what spell it has over us but we are glad we are apart of it regardless.....it could be in the hands, the seat, the feet, the seat of the pants feel thrust, the oh xxxx what the fxxx feel, or the just plain --Damn that was a fun feel-- who really cares---it's yours --right-- -We have feelings about this car --Feelings we probably don't understand-- and especially those around us who don't but it is ours to have, when and where we want it--cause it's a M A R U D E R!
Enuff said--someone just said---with you in spirits- Tom

$7600.00...hummm. From the pics, I wasn't far off on my estimate (6-8K estimate--from your original post)...Damn I am getting good at this. Time to retire.
I am glad to hear the body shop is giving you the "top notch" service you deserve. There are guys out there for the money and then there are guys (like me) that do it for the love of craft. I take just a little more pride in the job when it comes to someones "baby" and it always pays off when the customer takes it back home...
...Smiling once more.
Good luck Fourth and don't forget to post the After pics!

And speaking of $$$$$$$$ My body shop Mgr. called me the other day to inform me they are just now finallizing my charges after add-on supplements and my wreck cost just went over the $20K mark....
Maybe I should ask Logan if there is going to be an award for biggest "come-back" at Ennis??? --I should enter her for sure!!!

BE a watch dog on the body shop guys......I had my MM in the body shop, certifed Ford type......... many parts from the GranMarq. will fit, and some shops don't have current parts books that do have Marauder parts seperate from the GranMarq. It may not sound like a big deal to you all, but the shop didn't use MM chromed tire pressure stems...... they used some slip on types that Ford used on Mustangs. I want my MM to keep original Marauder parts on it, not just what fits. Double check all the work, then make sure you van bring it back.especially with under carrage damage. Good luck !!

19K??? Did you ask (beg) the insurance company not to write it off? What was the original estimate? Who is your insurer? Normally they total it around 51% of retail. Some have stretched it to 70 % but that is only if it is a classic (unique they call it), or when there is alot of aftermarket equip and the owner has low miles. Guess this goes to show you that they consider the Marauder...unique. I haven't come accross to many ins companies that would have said fix it.
Sorry to get off your post Fourth. Glad to see everything progressing as planned.

Well, not to get to far off the thread here---maybe this will help explain the situation:
The original est. was arounf 16K---and since at time of wreck , insurance had no other details for ref other than sticker price, and it was't 75% of that value
(NC law), insurance said to fix--then after several supplements were added, it totaled the stated price above--which by then of course it was fixed and back in my position-- Tom

meant to add of course: since five(5) months has passed, the value of the MM had dropped quite a bit, that today that same wreck would most surely been totalled and written off .... thats what most are thinking --todays value--but that wasn't the case then....Tom

Tom - I agree with Logan. The car should have been totaled. But if you are happy with the repair thats great.
