Loud and clear are the only two words i can think of to describe them.
Now i need fronts :D
Heres how my day went
First, i removed the seats

Then, i fought with the little plastic rivet things, until i figured out that a box wrench can remove those

hooray!

Next, remove the 3rd brakelight. I couldnt figure out that i had to do this on my own, luckily brian told me where i was making a dumb error, thanks brian :D

The speakers sound great, for now i have the balance somewhat more towards the rear, until i get better fronts.

I have grilles back there too. :P
I put in Infinity Kappas all around four years ago (geez has it been that long?) but have been thinking about these since I put in the Z2 & power amps last year. They sound pretty sweet in the store.

Those components look sweet, but those things fit in the doors?

Mine is an early August 2002 build. No decontent here. The parts bins were still full when mine was built. :P

HA! Custom baby! :beatnik:

hot-rauders car has the grills too. he has four sets of jbl components. it sounds amazing.
raudermasters car also has speaker grills.
my older brothers marauder does NOT have them.
2003 300a's have the grills. All the rest are "decontented" if you wish. Nice write-up, junior!

You'll realize the problem with that as soon as you get some real bass in the car.

04's = no grills and PITA to change out rear speakers. Did you tape down all the loose wires back there? I had to do this as they would vibrate and buzz.

I had no buzz, all i did was just plug the adapter into the stock harness and drop it back down thru the speaker hole :)

I'd get a higher watt deck like a pioneer deck or something to power those... I don't know if the stocker will be loud enough for my liking

Its not as hard as it seems, i mean, i did it in an hour using a screw driver, a socket set and a wrench :)

Eventually they will be amped, but right now they are plenty loud.
Go fast parts first :D

amping them is a waste of time and money unless you plan on adding some real boom in the trunk.
if you're going to amp speakers, buy components.

My advice to anyone replacing speakers; put a sheet of dynamat or similar damping material on the hole and cut out where the speaker mounts. it will not only dampen the metal, but it will prevent metal-to-metal buzzing which may occur with new speakers. Even Rich will agree with that.
