What if I put Cobra heads on my MM block? Will they fit and if so what will I gain? If I don't want a supercharger what are some other options.? :)

What Steve listed will get you into the 13's with ease. Those are the basic bolt on mods for a MM.

Cobra heads are the same as what the ones that are already on it.
Headers, 4.10 gears, 3000 stall torque converter, underdrive pulleys.

NOS. The best bang for your buck and ease of installation! It's like having a supercharger in a bottle. You'll surprise many sports cars from stop lights!
I wouldn't waste time and money with heads, since our heads flow pretty well as FordNut said. The gains will be minimal. Use that money for tune, headers, exhaust and torque converter instead.
If you don't have enough money for gears and TC, go for TC first. If you definitely don't plan to ever put on S/C, go for 3500 stall TC.
If S/C is in your distant future then go for 3000 stall TC

I didn't say that it can't be done. I prefer not to have my mid-range torque produced by the S/C get washed out by the extra stall.
Let's get crazy and why not go for 4500 stall?
I have a Procharger D1SC, and 3000.

It doesn't matter. It's all about commiting yourself to a budget & going fron there. Good Luck & try emptying the cookie jar from time to time & plan ahead. Good Luck. Ken Metsala.... Vortech powered marauder.

I had heard or Mr Man had heard that the MM had a detuned Cobra engine in it. Basically the bottom end was Cobra and they lifted the heads and put on milder set in there place. So I was wondering if we got a set of 04 Cobra heads would they work.
Also has anyone tried a built crate motor? We are just looking into our options.

That's wrong, sort of backward actually. The heads are the same. The block, pistons, rods, crank are different. The Cobra has stronger parts so it will hold up to the factory supercharger but it has lower compression than the Marauder. If a Cobra engine was installed without a blower, it would make LESS power since the compression is lower. A built FRPP crate motor could be installed and pick up some power, but not as much as simply bolting on one of the many blower kits available. And it would probably cost more than the blower kit, too.

You should seriously consider a 'snail' (thanx steve). The centrifugal blower kits such as the several Denis Reinhart offers and the FIT kit are pretty straight-forward to install, fairly easily reversible to stock and offer HUGE bang for the buck.
If you were to compare a top-of-the-line Novi Kit from DR or FIT kit and install labor with crate motor cost and labor, the blower would win hands down for cost vs HP.
I think Dennis' Novi air-air intercooled kit is the kit-to-git right now.

I started with a tune, CAI, intake spacer and 4.10 gears. So far, it has made a huge difference. I also have UD pullies and an EMP waterpump at home waiting for install. Next up is a valve body kit and they a torque convertor. I guess it just depends on how much speed you actually want.

I planned to stay NA for a long time and made virtually everey performance mod possible. Then I'd go to the track and get lined up against somebody with a blower and see tail-lights. Got tired of that and went ahead with a blower.

I'd recommend a Trilogy S/C.
If the budget is smaller, 4.10's and a tune are a great place to start.
I would not bother with UD pullies, I don't think the power gains are worth it, especially if you plan to go S/C in the future.

I'd recommend a Procharger Kit from F.I.T. Easy install and you can take it off and put it back to stock easily when you decide to sell the car. Another option is Nitrous. Breadfan is right, start with 4.10's and a tune and take it from there. Triology, Procharger or a Vortech kit will give you what you really want for power. Any of the above will kick your butt with power. Never enough HP.

That first one looks pretty awesome, never liked the airbag stickers on the visors and if only he made one for the MM, maybe he could be persuaded as he already has on for the SVT cobra.
And I'm Laughing My Ass Off, at that second one, its a ricer gold mine, all those stickers on one car has got to add at least 100hp to an otherwise stock car.

Nice Brian, but a lot of work will have to go into that install. I would also look at a complete return fuel system and big MAF for that application. I am working on another potential blower upgrade as well for my car. Doing my extended research at this time.
