Hey there Photogs and Marauderites :coolman:

Notice our brand new Photography Forum!! Thanks to Mary for creating a sub-forum. Hopefully we can put lots of good images and how-to threads here in the future. I am sure I will be posting more car shots as the weather improves and everything is not covered in salt!

I am still learning my way around the camera and decided to try a very artsy technique of "Zoom Blur". Using a longer exposure, holding the camera still, you zoom in or out.

Here are my best first attempts. The subject is not particularly engaging and the technique is not perfect, but it is about getting out, shooting and learning. If I just post perfect shots that would be boring. I think the best "learning" comes from seeing good and not-so-good images. And also realizing that people may shot 50+ images to get a single good shot.

I think this would work well if you focused on a detail like a hood emblem or corner light. Zooming on the entire car, gives a rather non-pleasing drug incduced blur to me. Obviously need to work on picking a detail to focus on and the range of zoom.
