Here's the latest addition to the Modrauder... Enkei Phalenx rims with Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials. At the track, I was able to cut a <a href="http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=43187" target="_blank">1.895 60'</a>.<br/><br/>Front Tires: Sumitomo 245/40R17 HTR ZIII<br/>Rear Tires: Mickey Thompson 275/40R17 ET Street Radials<br/><br/>Some pictures:<br/><br/>

Are those 17"s ? I like the tread, they look similar to the Nittos'

Please tell us the size!

The wheels are Enkei Phalenx 17" x 9" with a +38mm offset, meaning the inner clearance is practically identical to stock. The tires are 275/40R17 Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials, making my equivalent gear ratio about 4.57:1. Though I lose top-end, I calculated this to be the best diameter to put me high in third at the gate while still having front tire options that are load matched and compatible with ABS/TC (the matched size is 245/40R17).

That is a SHORT tire.

24.7" tall????

I would bang off the rev limiter aery time I launched!

LOL. Yeah, they've got a loaded diameter somewhere around there. Should make for an insane 60' and great 1/8th. Also, the rims and tires are about 2 lbs lighter; not much of a savings on the rotating mass, but if I go ET Streets (bias-ply), I should save almost 10lbs each.

I hope that is for track use only?

With widened rims MT makes a 305 X 45 X 18 Drga radial now. They will be my next set....They look good though.. The Nitto Dr'S GOT ME A 1.610 sixty foot at Bradenton.. They do work...

Will post above.

Well, considering I have the fronts to match, there are no ABS/TC issues. I drive them carefully to the track and back, and don't drive them on wet roads. Also, fronts and rears are radials (no bias-ply/radial mixing).

I'm curious how that is going to work. Optimally, drag tires have a very tall sidewall. The low-pro setup is good for cornering but not for launching.

Well, there's no spin with the 4.57 effective gear ratio and a high launch (~2700) and I'm in the 1.8's. The pressures were at 25 PSI and there was still a good .5 inch inner/outer tread not used. At 20 PSI, the full contact patch width will be about 10" and there will be even a better amount of squish in the sidewall. This particular size (275/40R17) is extremely popular, used on Terminator Cobras, 4th Generation Camaro SS's, C5 Corvettes (though 18"), etc., and offered by every major drag radial manufacturer (see Summit (http://store.summitracing.com/egnsearch.asp?N=700+4294923107 +4294904730+4294904668+115)). A good friend is running the same size MT ET Street Radials on a terminator cobra and cuts 1.6 60's. I'd say they work quite well.

I have a pair of cobra knock-off rims with BFG drag radials in that size. Going through the traps in 3rd gear the car was hitting 6500 rpms at 119/120mph on 20psi tire pressure.

Perfect! ;) What was your rev limiter set to?
