View Full Version : Planning the rebuild

I want to keep the rebuild as simple as possible so two things out right off the bat were the original thoughts of adding nitrous and having a race fuel tune. To make up for those power adding options I decided to increase the cubes instead. Here's my short list:

The shortblock will be from Modular Mustang Racing. It is the Stroker Street Mod 1150 with all forged internals rated to 1150rwhp. I'm upgrading to the Ford Racing BOSS 302 cast iron block which will net 5.3 liter displacement or 325 cubic inches. I'm keeping the heads stock and will be having the Vortech upgraded from an s-trim to a t-trim to help pack the air in those larger chambers.

A couple areas where I will need some advice are in upgrading the fuel system, whether to switch from a suck through to a blow through MAF setup, and choosing a compression ratio for the engine.

I also hope to be adding a new trans setup from BC-Auto.

Help me out...

Unless you are going to run TONS of boost I would stick with a CR that is close to stock: 9.5:1 -> 9:8:1.
Any lower in the CR and you will have a pig while out of the boost.
*Although you WILL have a lot more cubes to make up for the lost low end torque with a lower CR.

LOOK OUT another CAMmer beast is coming!

The Fuel Depends on the HP you are looking to get.
