Hey guys,

I cant drive past 55 the traction control comes out right away and stops me from going faster. Light moisture in the air and on the road. This is extreme.

I cant even take a turn and gas it at the sametime as the traction control comes on right away.

This is the worst car I have ever owned...I am going to the dealership tomorrow and its time to be upset...

Anyone have any ideas as to what this is? The dealer said the rear tires were on backwards and they fixed them. They also put new front tires on as well. And they changed the o2 sensor.

What the heck is going on? Any help would be appericated.

Sounds like the tires have been rotated and they messed up. Go outside and check. 235/50ZR18s should be on the front and 245/55ZR18s should be on the rear (the rear tires may be on the front and vice versa .... or possibly even the same size all around). That would cause your problem. Don't know what mounted "backwards" means. Even if mounted with the In Side out, it wouldn't give the symptoms that you mention.

Just curious -- but does this stop when you turn "Off" the T/C??

Don't blame the car for a service screw up .... and you should know this too.

^^^what Bluerauder said^^^

Sounds to me like the wrong size tires, too...if you don't maintain the 1.05/1 rear-to-front tire diameter ratio, the T/C will get flaky. Until you get it resolved, just turn it off.

This is the worst car I have ever ownedYou bought a used, 4-year old high-performance car that's having a few quirks and it's "the worst car you've ever owned"?! You must have had some extraordinary luck in the past...

This happened to me also. Went to my Ford Store for a service & they rotated the tires front to back by mistake. You don't want to drive around like this as you could possibbly damage the differental if they have the tires totally messed up front to back. Good Luck!!!!

You need to keep a cool head and your wits about and ask the Service Manager to check for any codes in the computer and go from there.

I can see your upset but blowing off steam at the Dealership will not help.

I had the same problem with '99 GM--after 2 months of trying everything, it turned out to simply be one of the wheel sensors was bad--changed it and the car has 125,000 miles without further incident--Good Luck

Tires are probably wrong. Same thing happened to my wife's car. Dumas dealer put wrong sizes on front/rear.

Tire size is right i checked i am not sure what else it could be

That's odd and have no clue what else it could be. Try what cruzer suggested. You never answered me before. Did you buy this car elsewhere, or was this at a dealer by you?

You posted 50's vs 55's but didn't post complete size info. 50/55 is aspect ratio (width), not height. Height is what is critical.

And check both sides, I've heard of some cars having 3 correct and one incorrect tire, causing the same symptom.

Did the dealer re-flash the EEC?

Did you figure out if you have 3.55 or 4.10 yet?

I'm betting on tires as the issue aslo.

Sorry to hear you having so many problems with your new wheels. Try hooking up with one of your local members and heve him assist in assessing your situation. There are a few goofy things with this Marauder. Once set-up correctly, there pretty good cars.

And in case you haven't noticed, most folks at dealerships/resale centers don't know all they need to know about Marauders.

I just got back from the dealer this is what went wrong.

Yesterday, the dealer put all four tires on in the wrong order/inverted. The treads were not alligned causing the car to no longer be stable.

They claimed it was a faulty speed sensor over the phone this morning - and that they were taking the car to a Ford dealer to have it looked at.

Then I go there this morning and the dealer has all 4 tires the same size... 235's all around. I asked how hard it was to order the same tire taken off the wheel - because the car had the right size tires when I dropped it off. So I calmly and collectively demanded 4 brand new tires to factory spec and asked them not to mess it up this time.

15 minutes later I get the owner on the phone and he is all apologizing and stuff - tried to offer me oil changes etc. I just told this was the worst car buying experience I have ever had, and that I expect the car 100% functional and cleaned upon my pick up this evening. And that I would no longer be doing business with him or his dealerships.

So yea no one go Brighman-Gill in MA for service.

My blood pressure was epic this morning - I am 24 and in need of some blood thinners apparently. I blamed the car for sucking when it was the dealer - I have never had this experience. I have purchased about 5 cars(trade ins and I kept the truck) since I was 18, and this sale has been the biggest headache of them all!

Sorry if my earlier posts sounded heated - because I was heated to say the least!

You posted 50's vs 55's but didn't post complete size info. 50/55 is aspect ratio (width), not height. Height is what is critical.

This is more accurate:

Aspect Ratio
This number tells you the height of the tire, from the bead to the top of the tread. This is described as a percentage of the tire width. For example, the aspect ratio is 55, so the tire's height is 55 percent of its width. The smaller the aspect ratio, the wider the tire in relation to its height.

I had 235's on all 4 tires it rode pretty good. I just recently put 255's in the rear it rides pretty good but not as good as before. I don't have t/c though

Can you please list precisely what tire sizes were put on the car?

In the future more info the better, you gave too little info by saying 50 and 55 series tires, that's just a ratio and overall tire height dictated by section width compared to this ratio.

Don't blame the car if non OEM tire sizes are on and you don't have the details of what size they are...Marauders are unique and tires are one of those unique quirks with them.

And what did you mean about the tires tread being backwards or something? Did you take it to a dealer that cannot understand the arrow on the sidewall showing rotation direction?

Also what kind of tires are they, they do not sound like stock BFG KWDS's.

Eric-Blk2004

Like I said this is what the dealer told me. I have the Marauder in my possession all of 9 hours over 4 days. I know cars - I use to be a tuner kid and wanna be hotrodder with my WS6.

Apparently the dealership can not read arrows, like I said this is what was said to me.

These are stock tires. I am not claiming to know the directionals of all tires ever made - this is what was relayed to me.

I told you the height of the tires because thats the only info I had at the time. It was what 10pm at night and I am coming out of a upsetting situation. I never claimed to be a calm headed person.

Jees people get so defensive when you say a car is piece or it has problems. Its a Ford - Fix or Repair Daly? I mean seriously all cars break and no car is perfect.

Honestly, anyone who really believes this ought to not have a Ford product.

Car is a car man. I got the Marauder because I like the styling, the power, the comfort. Need I go on?

I am not some person who buys something based on brand 100%. I got the car because its low mileage and appeared to be in good shape. I worked in repair shops and in custom car audio.

All cars are junk - the build quality has been terrible in the last few years. I know audi's that have power windows for 6 months and thats it because they break. I know Toyota owners whose engines leak after a year. And I have owned plently of American cars to know the deal with them.

Just find a car in good shape and maintain and expect to fix it or repair it daily.

Based on your experience you know the Marauder does not put it's tires on backwards. Perhaps a more accurate statement would be "the worst dealership".

This is MercuryMarauder.Net a place for Marauder Enthusiast. Telling us it's the worst car you have ever owned because the dealer put the wrong tires on will not get a warm reception here.

Asking for help and getting it will only happen by answering questions by others who are taking their time to solve your problem. People can get upset when you ask for their time and effort to solve your problem and you fail to reply with the same time and effort to answer their questions.

When you ask for help be prepared to put in the same effort answering the questions as those who are trying to help you.

This car seems to be too rare for dealers and shops to know what the hell it is. They assume its a crown vic w/ rims on it and then **** like this happens. They have no idea Ford would stagger tire sizes from the factory. I have had shops tell me that I must have changed the (stock) wheels and put them on myself because the car "didn't come like that". Yeah okay. I'm not surprised.

You'd think people choosing to make a living off of selling cars would know enough about their product to not make such an obvious error, but...thinking like this is what causes heads to explode.
