Are these the same heads and if yes are they direct bolt to the Marauder intake?

No they are not the same, this will sound a bit confusing but here goes:
Ford GT and Shelby GT500 = same heads, won't match Marauder intake, they're made for a 5.4L
FR500 however, will bolt up to a Marauder intake and does have a bit better flow, mainly on the intake port.

With adapters the GT500/GT heads do fit. Reinhart put a set on Todd's turbo marauder.

Needs a 5.4 intake as I recall. Too high for the stock hood.

I thought the adapters were needed to be used because the 5.4 being a little wider if you were using a 4.6 intake. Hmmmm.

You are correct.
You can use a Marauder Intake on 5.4 Heads with an adapter plate (s).
It will raise the intake though.
There is no real benefit to doing this, unless you want a more aggressive cam already packed into that head.

Well that was my intentions. I have the Comp XE270AH cams in my Crown Vic and I really like the sound and performance. I can get the GT heads cheap ($700.00 for both) and was thinking about future plans.

Who sells the adapters?
Who sells the adapters?
My car was the prototype for the adapters made by Racer Walsh. The owner is a personal friend of mine.
After I made the suggestion to use the GT heads on my build, we found a lot of differences that we needed to account for. Looking back, I would not have done the upgrade due to cost.
You CAN use the factory intake from the Marauder with the GT heads. See my car for proof.
You CAN NOT use your factory hood as it is. I had to have a custom, all metal cowl hood made to clear.
You CAN NOT use factory bolt pattern headers. The 5.4 bolt pattern is different than the 4.6.
Let me know if you have any questions.

I assume those are bare heads alone. And even as bare heads, $700 for both is a good deal....
The complete heads including cams, valves, etc are $1500 each retail.

It looks good on paper but I don't think I need all that headache and expense right now. Thanks for the info.
