Stock Radio Mute not working ???

Help,

With stock radio.
I ran the radio test to ck. the signal strength and lthe rest of the tests.
Now the radio mute does not work when I press it --- just says no phone.
Any ideas???

I thought mine did something like that, I was under the impression you had to hook a phone up to it and the mute button mutes the music and may allow voice through the speakers...I'm sure someone with more knowledge on the stock headunit will pipe in. I don't think it works as a regular mute button though.

mine works as a regular mute button. never had it not work though.

I have had the buttons on the wheel for the stereo not work from time to time. Have to restart to get them working. Also very annoying..

Mine shows "NO PHONE" when I press the mute button but only if the radio is off!!:cool:

When I turn it on AM, FM, or CD it mutes fine and displays "AUDIO MUTE"!!:beer:

In a round about sort of way I discovered United Radio, Inc. is an authorized Alpine re-builder...call them if your radio doesn't behave like above....800-448-0944

How do you run the radio test? Is there a diagnostic in it?

Mine works without a phone.

What kind of phone do you need to hook up with it?
