Is the hyundai tiburon a joke or is it for real? I had one roll up on me today, and it looked older with two kids in it and they revved it a few times and then got stuck in traffic and finally turned off. Besides traffic i had my three kids in the car so obviously i wasn't going to run him down. But i must admit the little pos did sound pretty good but why? Its a hyundai, knock it off it will always be a hyundai no matter what you do. Besides sometimes its just more fun looking at the guy with a what the hell are thinking face, give a smart ass grin and just shake your head and not give them any of your attention that they oh so want.
This thread was not intended to offend anyone who drives hyundai's they are a good car for commuting just like my pos 96 escort that i drive daily but you don't see me putting on an exhaust and a chip and go out and try to show off, it just wouldn't be right.

I'm going to disagree.
The Genesis coupe, tiburon replacement, will be outstanding.
performance wise, the six cylinder numbers closely match the g37. the base model turbo four cylinder will be a tuners dream. when the v8 enters the ring....watch out.
should be the cheapest rwd v8 coupe available in the US

Although i do welcome rear wheel in any car. Seems to be making a come back. I just can't relate to anything wrong wheel drive no matter the power, it just does'nt feel right. And we'll see about the pricing because hyundai has been on the rise over the last few years now that they are winning over a lot of peaople with their awesome warranty.

I quit laughing at Hyundai vehicles about 5 years ago. Let me tell you - as somebody that takes apart vehicles old and new, foreign and domestic, the BEST built cars are Korean and Japanese. VW has the worst cars for reliability and Hummer makes the biggest POS on the planet. The Hyundai Tiburon looks right from every angle and comes with a free-revving V6. I was in a new 2008 Hyundai Entourage a week ago - still cannot pick my jaw up. The 2009 375HP RWD Genesis is frightingly perfect and aimed right at Lexus and BMW. It can walk the walk. And talks the talk at HALF price and twice the warranty.

The Tiburon GT V6 is slow, only 172hp and 181tq
It doesn't look that bad, but i mean really.

ya, but a Marauder is a Marauder and you do not have to prove it everyday. Every challenge you turn down leaves the other guy wondering why you dissed him and he feels inferior and you didn't hurt your car racing a Seoul Puppy which weighs half as much as you. Feel good, put er on cruise and turn up the radio in your 4200 lbs of iron.

Back in the 90's the Tiburon used to win the Pikes Peak Hill Climb in its class quite a bit as I recall. They were reasonably quick me thinks...

I work at a hyundai dealer and i saw the genesis prototype in person. It's going to be no joke. Hyundais are reliable. A salesman here traded in his 01' z28 for an accent. hes just plain crazy.

I drove a Hyundai once....about 4 years ago....it was so cheep and so crappy I couldn't believe it!! Now i agree they have improved, but still they have a long ways to go to earn my respect. Maybe the new genesis line will change my opinion.

Anyone ever seen the Twin Engine Tiburon?
It was in a Car & Driver "super street car shootout" magazine issue several years ago. Watch what it does on the track and at the end of the video lol.

A co-worker sold his modified Tiburon about 3 weeks ago on E-bay. He bolted on a turbo and free flowing exhaust (no cat & it still passed emissions) 4 years ago. He showed me the dyno run -- 478 HP at the front wheels. 11 mpg in town, 31 on the highway.
He didn't plaster it with stickers or a towel rack wing. Just some subtle aftermarket rims and good tires and a good sound system.
But it was still just a Hyandai.
