I am looking for improved sound only....sounds crazy but i dont care about HP and just looking to make sound meaner and deeper. Have read hundreds of posts and not sure what all i have to do just to get the sound without the headache of changing headers and whole exhaust.....althoug it sounds like Kooks is the way to go if i have to do that.
Any help would be greatly appreiacted. Thanks to all in advance!

Go with Magnaflow mufflers and see if Wes (Innovative Interceptors) can hook you up with a pair of res-delete tips.

When I changed my exhaust a few years ago, I did mufflers only (Flowmaster 40's) and res-delete tips. Everything else I had left stock. The sound was much louder, and more aggressive. I don't like the sound of Magnaflow mufflers on Marauders (heard plenty) thats why I went with Flowmasters. Strictly preference. Listen to as many exhausts as you can (either by sound clips here on this site, or on youtube.com etc) decide what you like...then get it done. Not very expensive either.

Now I have full custom exhaust with x-pipe, flowmaster 40's, res delete tips, and stainless works ceramic coated longtubes. My exhaust right now....MEAN.

You can do it without even costing that much.

Remove the 2nd set of cats, Flowmaster Super 40 Series (NOT DELTA, their quiet) or 44 Series Mufflers and a set of Res-delete tips.

I have a bunch of other videos on my youtube page http://www.youtube.com/user/ctrlraven

Anyone heard anything good about the Flowmaster 50 Deltas? I've been looking at a set of those but idk yet. The 40's are a little too aggressive sounding for me :)

50's have a "lighter" sound to them, sound similar to Magnaflow's if you ask me. I've heard the new Super 44's are down right nasty, look into those.

Thanks to all. Talked with one of the guys on here about the Borla as well, anybody heard the flows and Borlas side by side and know what the difference's are?

You can see and hear my custom exhaust here (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=42639). I have Stainless Works long tube headers, custom cat-ed midpipes with H crossover, and Borla ProXS mufflers. The tailpipes and tips are stock.

I just put on Borlas last fall. Otherwise, I'm stock with 4 cats and res tips. The sound went deeper but about the same loudness. I was looking for a little more loudness and "meanness". I'm not likely to get that without either res-delete tips and/or removing 2 of the cats. I haven't gone there yet but I like the Borlas just the same. It does not sound like a Mustang (aka Flowmasters).

If you like it loud, and healthy sounding, just have someone cut out the mufflers and run straight pipes. When you first start it up, it's a little raspy, but after it warms up, it sounds awesome. It will cost you between $40 to $50 to try it. I've been running mine that way for quite a while now, and my wife is even used to it. My step daughter recently rode in the back seat, and said it sounded like a powerful motorboat.

I tried several systems including the Ford Dual Modes, and so far, I'm really happy with just running with no mufflers at all. I also have the Megs 3" delete tips, which makes it even louder.

You can spend a lot of money, or a little. I get compliments almost everyday on how my car sounds. We have several guys here in Central Florida, that have done this, and we all love it.

Wes's website says the 4" delete tips are a group buy till Sept '06' of $200......Is this a misprint I am guessing cause I thought the 4's are new????

Stock manifolds, stock 1st cats, 2nd cats removed, 2.25" piping from end of H -crossover to Flowmaster Super 40's, 2.25 over axle to 3.5" res-delete tips 1.2 or 1.4" past the bumper.

The Borla turbo is not as loud as the Borla straight-through, which is what I have on my car.
