Hey guys, is there a fuel pump access panel in the trunk on this car, or do you have to drop the tank to get to the pump? I assume our pump has a strainer sock on the end? The reason being, I transferred some fuel into the MM from another car because I needed to drop the tank on the other car, and it looks like I may have gotten a tiny bit of sediment in the fuel I transferred. I will change the fuel filter just because I have 30k miles and its due anyway, but I'll yank the pump to look at the sock if this car has an access door that makes the pump easy to get to. I'm used to 3rd gen Firebird/Camaros where you have to drop the whole tank, above the exhaust, to get to the pump (huge PITA)

Steve,
There is no panel inside the car, you have to reach up above the axle by the exhaust pipes to get to the fuel pump/access plate on the front side of the upright fuel tank.
My understanding is that it CAN BE done without having to drop the axle off the car....but it is a PITA!

I have very skinny arms (trust me it's not something to brag about, 5'10", 140 lbs). I forget that the newer cars mount the sender unit on the side of the tank instead of the top like the older stuff... I assume I will want to run the tank almost empty before pulling the sender so I don't end up with a very flammable shower... It's probably not something worth pulling the sender for but I did see some sediment flakes at the bottom of the new gas can after transferring 8 gallons from a trans am into the MM. I had to get rid of the gas and I couldn't exactly dump that much gas out.

If I recall, the access plate is towards the top portion of the upright fuel tank.
I don't think that you will have to run the gas level too low to avoid a 93 octane shower.
I'll get under the Marauder later tonight if I don't get too involved in the NCAA final game on TV.

It's currently probably a 91 octane shower considering the 8 gallons of probably 87 or 89 that got mixed in w/ 93.
