Hey Rod, you should just drive cross country, it would be a hellofa trip. Where is everybody else? Adam, Sam, Steve, Maury, Gary, Pat, anybody else thinking about it?

John, that's great--I was really hoping it would work out=--you know I'll help in any way. I've worked out meeting points so we can have a large convoy from down here. Rod, fly in to DFW--help me drive up--then Ginny can't say she doesn't want to travel alone. O K Texas , you asked for a 1 day drive to Marauderville---no excuses accepted--The WagonMaster has spoken--let's get ready to move 'em out in September, Maury:beer::burnout::banana2:: )
With the one day trip to St. Louis from here this can be doable.
If there is a convoy from DFW, SA, San Angelo, then prolly it would travel up I-35 thru Oklahoma City over to Joplin, Mo then on to St. Louis, about 703 miles
Looks like a toll road from OC to Joplin. Wonder how much that costs?
My track will be up I -30 to Little Rock, on the Memphis then to St. Louis, about eleven hours.

Not sure which route is best for the Houston crowd, maybe we meet up with them in Arkansas as well.

For us Texans a quick look on the map it appears either DFW north on I-35 to OKC then on I-44 east to St. Louis or US 75 to Tulsa and then on I-44 to St. Louis.

The I-35 to I-44 route is 50 miles longer, but it goes quicker than the scenic eastern OK drive up thru US 75 & 69 to hitting I-44 at Big Cabin. Tolls are under $10, not a big deal. Okla state police have a Camaro that patrols the turnpike, but you can crank the speeds up a bit.
Plan on 10 1/2 to 11 hours. Leave a little time to let Maury stop for some exercise & relief, and keep an eye on him so he doesn't get lost!
I-44 will take you right into downtown St. Louis without having to drive on surface streets.

I drove that route to INDY in 2004. Pretty good drive, no problems other that seeing troopers around Springfield.
