I hope you folks make plan to join up with the DFW group somewhere along your route--let's get the planning going early--makes things easier--if you haven't convoyed--you don't know what fun is---hope to hear from you soon--Maury

I'm going to talk to my supervisor Saturday morning to see if I can request leave for it.

Traffic through Memphis shouldn't be HORRIBLE, but there was construction on I-40 when I went through there last. I'll call a friend of mine soon and get further input on that...

Good Chrish...we would like for you to join us......

You know Mike, if there is ten to 12 cars, like Centerville, that have committed to the convoy by that time it will become irresistable not to drive from Bossier, WEST, to DFW and join with you on I-35 somewhere above Dallas. Patricia and I would just come up a day earlier RON and join.

Since we are going to stay with my oldest son in St. Louis and save on hotel expense the RON in Dallas isn't a budget breaker.

I'll be following the thread.

Yep, we will have to designate a meetingplace in DFW (probably in Plano or Allen or someplace along US 75); St Louis is a full one days drive from here so more than likely it will either be a real long day for you south Texas guys or you might plan on staying overnight here if we are all headed up together. Can one of you pc savvy folks set up a poll here so we know who is going and if theyve made hotel reservations yet?

Suggestion;

Let's keep all the same colors together, looks better that way IMO.

Mike,

Meeting in Dallas is good, the more the merrier. One question, if St. Louis is a full days drive from Dallas. Are we planning to stop at the half way point to spend the night? If not, by the time we get to St. Louis our wagons are going to be dragging.

We still have to figure out who is going with us from here and what day we are leaving.....I spoke to Dave this morning and he said he is droping out.....gas prices....I told him to save money like the rest of most of us are doing....I am!! So far its Eric, me, Joey. Chrish is a maybe, Dreydin is a maybe, still havent heard from Logan.
Wes is a maybe and I dont know who else from the Houston area is going or thinking about going.

:shake: Well Mike it doesn't look good. Due to the higher gas $ i'm not going to have enough funds for the trip. SORRY. I have a couple of bowling tournaments coming up and I hope to finish in the top 5; then i would have enough $ to go. However i will go as far as Dallas/Houston whichever way,:alone:

The Cracker Barrel restaurant in Denton would be ideal. it is located just North of the junction of I 35 E and W in Denton--then a straight non-stop run to Oklahoma City, then a straight non-stop run to St Louis. those coming up 75 or 69 can join up at the big McDonalds at Venita on I 44. The OK Turnpike is a toll road--but the condition of the road and services make it a good investment. Just a suggestion--think it over. Let's be ready to roll !!!!, Maury

Oh yes--if everyone has a walkie-talkie, it makes caravanning a lot more fun and much safer

i'm not going

"DAVE'S NOT HERE, MAN"

Sorry, I couldn't resist. I know it's old, and I am too, but I thought it would be appropriate with Cheech and Chong getting back together.

I wish I could go, but I used up all of my days after surgery and getting ready for the move. I am ready for another Freebirds/Car Show in Houston though. Didn't we do that about this time last year?
