Mine turn on no matter what position the switch is in.
If it's dark... the headlights are on.
I hate it.
What's broke? The swtich or the photosensor? Since the photosensor is working I am going to assume it's the swtich.
When it's daylight out... I can control the lights with the switch. Off, parking, headlights and fogs all work fine in the day.
At night.... they will turn on by themselves with the switch in the AUTO position... or OFF, or parking or headlights.
Help?

The rain issue is the link to the wiper function. No wipers, no lights!
If the light switch is in the auto position, then the lights come on, then the switch is turned to the off position, they will stay on. If they are kept in the off position, they should not come on even when it gets dark. If that's not how they're working for you it's probably the LCM. Possibly the switch, but more likely the LCM.

LCM??
I always keep the switch in the OFF position... but in the morning... when it's still barely dark out and I want the parking and fogs only... the headlights turn on automatically.
Annoying.

Lighting Control Module. Everything is computerized and had a control module. Door Control Module, Powertrain Control Module, Lighting Control Module, etc...
Sounds like you have a problem. Maybe it has been upgraded to have DRL? Question is "how annoying?" It can get pretty expensive replacing modules, sensors, switches.

Most likely LCM. Mine went bad last summer, couldn't get the headlights on no way. It's an expensive part. I was under Ford ESP, so only $100 deductible.

It isn't annoying enough to warrant more than a few min fix in my drive way.
Guess it'll wait.
