Ok, after talking to Diller a little more about the park I have a few updates.

The date is offical: Saturday, June 7th 2008
See the end of the post for the signup list

The meet location is officially

Lime Kiln Park
2020 South Green Bay Road
Grafton, WI

I will be posting directions to the park once we get a little closer.
We have the park starting at 1200 until 10 PM

Per the park permit alchoholic beverages are allowed in plastic bottles or cans ONLY!!

Dave and Myself will be going that morning to purchase the food for the meet. (burgers, brats, hot dogs - typical cookout fare) so if anything has changed with attendance please try and let us know so we have enough food for everyone.

We would love to have a few Marauder owners in attendance if anyone is available that day come on out. It should be a fun day.

I will begin looking into picnic area rental costs & Availability etc. tomorrow and get then get some real plans posted up here ASAP.

Ok, We have a line on a park. Only small issue is its a little further north than I had originally wanted. I Am asking for a solid headcount and date choice from the local members, as I have to reserve the picnic area. I will be covering all the costs for the picnic area to make this happen, so If you can make it on one of the posted May or June days please let me know.

Before I forget the park we have found is in Grafton, WI. It might be Lime Kiln Park but until we get a solid Reservation that might change slightly.
Thanks,

Tom

I'm helping a buddy move into a new place in Shorewood, so I should be able to swing up for a while.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO THE GRILLIN' AND CHILLIN' EVENT!!!

Sorry for the delay. Here's the long-awaited directions, coming up from Illinois on I-94:

Take I-94 West heading north from the state line to downtown Milwaukee (40 miles)

Once you get to downtown, I-94 turns west. Continue NORTH on I-43 north to exit 92 - Grafton Hwy 60/Hwy Q (22 miles)

Get off at Grafton Exit 92 and turn left (West) and drive to the first major intersection with stoplights - Port Washington Rd - Target is on your left (.25 mile)

Turn left (south) on Port Washington Road and continue to Falls Road (.8 miles)

Turn right (west) on to Falls Road.

Continue on Falls Road until it dead ends at Green Bay Road (1.3 miles). You will have crossed one 4-way intersection with stop signs and shortly after and crossed the Milwaukee River.

Turn left (south) on Green Bay Road and drive until the road starts to curve to the right (.2 miles).

Turn left onto Green Bay Road (same name). It will be the road on your left side as you're driving into the curve.

The park is about 300 feet from the intersection of where Green Bay Road and Green Bay Road split (sounds confusing, but is easy!!)

We are all the way in the back of the park. Follow the road along the river to the "Archery Range" in the back. Plenty of space to park and have fun!!

If anyone needs different directions, just let me know!!

The park's address is: (for those that have navigation like me)

Lime Kiln Park
2020 South Green Bay Road
Grafton, WI 53024

Hope to see you all on Saturday!!

Well, we had a decent turnout about 11 of the 16 cars made it to the meet. We had two more enroute when we had to shut everything down at 3PM due to Tornado warnings. The weather got really bad really fast. We are beginning to plan another meet since this one got cut so short. Ill keep everyone posted.

I was gearing up to head out when the sirens blew by my place. We should do another Milwaukee area event this summer.

Xopher,
Would have been great to meet you, too bad the weather messed everything up, that park was great except for the stupid Frisbee golf players that had no clue what they were aiming for. Luckily no damage was done to any of the cars.

We have been discussing late August or Early September at this point. As soon as something more solid is formed Ill create a new thread. And if anyone has any ideas shoot them my way.

Thanks,
Tom
