Air bag light

The problem occurred when my brother moved the driver seat several times . I took the car to a ford dealer today they scanned it . They said you must remove the whole driver seat out and check the air bag wiring harness . It'll cost me over 150$$ just labor . Is there any way to check the air bag wiring harness without removing the seat ?? oh by the way the car is a 1999 lincoln town car I'm sorry for posting a Town car problem in a Marauder forum I'm so desperate . :(:alone::depress::help:

Not sure where the connectors are located on a TC, but find them and disconnect/reconnect them and it might help. The driver's side MM seat has a position sensor, sounds like it could be either the sensor or the wiring connections since it happened as a direct result of moving the seat back & forth.

It happened when the driver seat moved far to the front . The dealer wants to rip me off .

Not necessarily. I wouldn't pull out the seats and troubleshoot the problem for any less than what the dealer wants. It's a pain.

Actually, pulling the seat is not such a big deal. I bought the Snap-on TORX + (with funny corners) P/N 55IP to go looking for a lost pieces-part. Just pull the seat and inspect the connector/wires. While you're at it, take the vacuum cleaner along and clean out the shed cobra skins, giant muther spiders & such like. :eek:

Should be just one wiring block, two, at most. They just pull apart, and are different sizes, so you can't get 'em mixed up. If for no other reason, just think of the treasures you're gonna find under there. :D

My light is on as well. My seat belt warning light flashes every minute or so as well. I was moving the seat and hitting the AC button...
