Here's my nightmare.:(

Several weeks ago the air compressor starts coming on more often, not just when first started. Within a few days, it begins sounding different. After a couple more days it sounds really sick and finally dies. The dashboard indicator goes on and the rear is hanging LOW. Oh well, I figure its about that time, 60k, and contact my dealer to order a replacement. Nope - none in stock. Apparently, not one to be found anywhere. Special back order from Kansas City or somewhere. Nothing else to do but buy it over the phone and wait. Ten days already and I just checked again... still in route. "Sould be in early next week". Hope this never happens to anyone else -- each day I have to drive the Mrs. minivan just kills me.

I guess limited production = limited parts availablity...:dunno:

I owned mine a week and the thing died on me at around 53k... I was ready to bring the car back and leave it there... I was so po'ed

Also,
Foglights were blown
Spiratic headlight operation
Gas gauge went down too quickly
the passenger inside door handle was f'ed up
I also told them to check these and any other PSB's for the car

Thay were great about it and fixed everything and sent me a tin of cookies and gave me a loaner... I beat the piss out of that taurus!

$250 for the compressor, no sure of the install $, plus the aggravation of downtime

Anyone else have this issue? My compressor is shot too. $357 CDN.

I'm at about 65k. Seems rather early for this type of an issue.

Got the call - compressor in. Went and had it installed... 1/2 hr and $99 later, I'm back!
