Coming home from the Deere dealership from getting some parts, i got on I-74 and never saw him but any how he flipped on the lights and told me to get off at the next exit. I know a couple of State Cops and none drive marked cars so i thought for sure i was screwed. He said you were driving a little fast (73 in a 65) so im like ok. He takes all my crap back to the car and then comes back up and says I wrote tickets for the speeding and the dark tail lights and the car being to loud. So then i was like ok wait a second the tail lamps are stock and even thought i have flow masters i played the car is loud from the factory ticket. He then tells me his is just joking and was on his way home when he saw me and wanted to see the car. He looked it over from top to bottom and said he gets on this site and looks around so hopefully he will see this. Am i glad that i didnt get any tickets because thats the last thing i need!!!!

Consider yourself lucky...
Is 73 in a 65 really speeding? I might have flipped out on him for that one!

In the town that i live in most of the cops are *********s and one pulled me over just for the tail lights, said that i tinted them and wrote me for it. I had to fight it and with the help of a mercury marauder book proved my case and won. In my town they have contest between the cops on who who can write the most tickets. And its BULL*****.

New jersey has some real stuck up traffic cops who nail you for everything. One time me and my brother saw a cop pull over a limo town car, for what? I have no clue. He took off from the light then the cop put his lights on and pulled him over.
In my town, anything motorized on the sidewalk counts as a motor vehicle, and they give you the "no license, no registration, blah blah" crap. Im still waiting for someone to pull over a kid in his pow pow power wheels

Speed laws are absolute, 66 in a 65 is speeding and writeable. I don't know anyone who would do it, but thats the law. Wait, I do know someone, but I told him not to do that. :D

NJ is still shamefaced over the incident with your Governor and his state trooper driver going 90+ on the TP and causing that horrific crash, last year. Not to mention himself was not wearing the state law required seat belt.
In this instance I'd think it's a case of seeing a kid in the car they wish they were driving ....***** envy, if you will. They'd have never stopped an OF like me under the same circumstance.

Bartonville has always had a bad reputation for writing speeding tickets, my sister lives near the airport and we have to drive through there to get to her house. Here in Florida you have to be going 7 miles over to get a ticket, 1 to 6 is a warning only just to keep departments from giving BS tickets such as Waldo PD in north Florida. They are the reason Florida created the warning from 1 to 6 over law for traffic enforcement.

So you haven't been pulled over yet Ryan? lmao
i got pulled over by a cop that wanted to see the car, too bad he couldnt. i had 3% tint on it and he couldnt see in. i put the windows down adn he saw my strobe light controller but didnt make me turn them on. he was really interested in it, but still no reason to pull me over. i dont pull him over to see his cruiser.
consider yourself lucky. yes some LEOs can be tougher than others, but they are just doing their job. i would rather they be tougher than easier....

I got pulled over once...and stopped once when I first got my hard tags...In MD you MUST have a front tag on the car...mine was in the window when I got pulled over...and on the floor when I got stopped...BUT MD front tags are pointless...the stickers are on the back tag...

Same in MA, but it is only partially enforced. if you dont have it on, it generally wont be enforced, but if you get stopped. your screwed.
it is so anyone can read your tags, even in the rear view. as if someone who may be tailgating you or driving recklessly, also think of it as if someone had wrecked their car, and only the front was out of the ditch, you can read their tags.

I generally let 10 over the speed limit slide, 15 over is a good stop. But again that all depends on the location of the speeding offense, the amount of traffic and presence of pedestrians. I have a zero tolerance for school zone speeding.

1. We all hate the governor, being a democratic state, we always get the dumb governors. McGreevey was gay, Corzine doesnt obey the law, next one will be charged with murder.
2. It wasnt ***** envy, unless the cop (who i believe was about mid 40's) would get jealous over an explorer:lol:
Or theres the time he got pulled over with about 300 other people on the turnpike for "crossing the white line" while turning on to the highway. Traffic court lost his case so they took 175 dollars off of the fine.
Gotta love it

The last ticket I received was for 77 in a 75. The LEO who pulled me over said speeding is speeding. I tried to fight it because of the year of the vehicle and the speedometer reading being a little off. The court said they would change the ticket to faulty equipment fine and give me another court date but I declined and paid the $200 for going 2 over.:argue: I lost a lot of respect for the system after that.

Actually, it was on the Garden State Parkway (GSP) when he was headed back for Atlantic City to Trenton. The Gov got busted up pretty good in that wreck. Bet he wears his seatbelts now.
I have been pulled over once in 4.5 years and I deserved it. Got off with a warning (thanks to a retired Military ID card that he happened to see while I was fishing out my driver's license)--- then chatted about the car for 10 minutes. Felt very lucky with just a warning. :o
I do think that younger guys in an MM especially those with borderline or darker tint are at a disadvantage with such stops.

Yea I like Bartonville, but we have nine police officers in a small town like Bartonville is just *****. The thing that pissed me off the most was that our house is about 50ft from the town line so i am county and our house was gitting robbed and bartonville "stood by" and said if the roober went down there side of the road they would have pursued him but other than that wait for the county police. Yep the guy got away, didnt get anything from the house but i call that :bs: When ever amyone gets pulled over in B-ville at least three cars for a speeding ticket. Come on now get a clue!!!

That is pretty crappy about your house getting robbed. WE have stuff like that happen here too, it goes on everywhere. WE have an apartment complex where we have 4 of the 9 buildings.. county has the rest... if your police officers were doing what they should they should step up and cross the city line and do what needs to be done and let county handle the report writing. thats what we do. We respond to county calls if they are resonably close to where we patrol if it is feasable.
There also may be a poor relationship between the city and county police. or maybe the city/county govt dont get along? EIther way I apologize for the bad situation you were in.

No joke, I was out of the dealership on Saturday 2 minutes into getting my 04 silver Marauder and the police had one of those mandatory inspection sticker/registation sticker stops on the same road as the dealership. The cop was looking over the paper registration over and over, and I finally said, "Officer I just bought this and finished signing the paperwork not even 5 minutes ago" He proceded to say, "Enjoy the ride, this is really sharp" I almost said its a souped up version of what you guys drive but didnt want to put the bullseye on the car owning it for 5 minutes. Thankfully there arent any glass packs or tints on it (well not yet anyway) or I could have gotten a ticket 5 minutes into owning it. They are funny with that here in New York, I think its like only 30% of tinting can be used on the windows and I am not even sure about what the rules would be if I had glasspacks on it. (with the cats of course) Anyway, enjoying reading the forums and everyones stories (except the vandals and ticket stories)

I have no problem with writing speeding tickets but a ticket for the tail lights being to dark....Come on folks they are OEM. I have gone on ride alongs With an Ill. State Tropper with a Blue Crown Vic Sport with all the strobes under the windows and in the lights. He puts that baby in the slow lane and if you pass him at 69 you are the proud new owner of a speeding ticket, no if ands or buts. You wouldnt believe the people that pass him....hey man lets pass that crown vic with a ***** load of cars behind him at 90. WOW. I dont care about speeding on the interstate but folks lets not speed on country roads its just not safe. I have been hit by a Lexus in my combine. Split his car in half and he still walked away. Lexus= Totaled, My brand new John Deere combine had a scratch on the rear axle. Oh and he said he never saw me ha, 16 headlights, two taillights, six hazard warning lights, an SMV and he never saw me.... Right. Folks dont speed on turning country roads. Take it to the track.
