View Full Version : Last time I let my tank drop below 1/4
Long story short.....
I paid attention to my ScanGaugeII tonight during WOT runs from a stand still.
At about 30-35mph, fuel pressure dropped from the normal 39psi to 29psi.
I went WOT again under the same conditions and duplicated the results.
My gas gauge read slightly under 1/4.
Kinda scary when you see a digital readout of a potential disaster.
Keep those tanks as full as possible

When this information has been posted in the past many have stated the laws of physics do not apply to their Marauder. Their Marauder accelerates so fast fuel is forced into the engine!
Zack, just get your car to accelerate faster and you can race it on E.

Interesting real-time observation, Zack. :trophy1:
Some might recall the results of Mark's ordeal and the controversy surounding the explination of what happened.
As for those who say it can't happen ....there y'go.
I don't suppose you added fuel to the tank and retested, did you?
Enquiring minds . . .

It's past Monday. What happened?
I went WOT this morning with a full tank and sure enough, the ScanGaugeII read 29psi for a brief time.
I think what im seeing is the millisecond drop in FP when I nail the gas displayed on the ScanGauge.
I would have to install an Aeroforce Gauge to get more accurate readings because it takes readings much more frequently than the ScanGauge.

Any chance it's a voltage drop to the pump?

No, I have a dedicated power line (from battery) going to a relay, then to the pump.

Good. Glad it's just a slow gauge.

If you are plugging these gauges into the OBDII port, then you are not guaranteed of getting "instant" accurate data. It is just sampling the info from the ECU and giving you a general number. Get yourself a real fuel pressure gauge and tap it into the rails to see what is happening.
Lemme tell ya, even though my Nexus gauges are expensive, they are REAL TIME and not based on a guess.
Zack, I have my old control unit for sale since I upgraded. Make you a deal on it. Of course you'd need to buy the nexus gauges you want to go with it but you could start with fuel pressure, and work your way up.

The other thing the FRPS is off compared to a mechanical gauge
