had the trans filter and fluid changed today with Mobil 1. it does seem to shift firmer, and more predictable. when I got the car 30k miles ago, the fluid looked clean, so I left it until now. I figured while I was at it, that 110k miles were enough for the original fuel filter as well. drained TC and dropped pan, and flushed lines. my work trucks with E40Ds went 100k between changes on the older Mobil 1 Mercon fluid. my oil samples were always good, and it was always clean at 100k. knowing this, I was curious how long people here were stretching fluid changes with synthetic fluids (if at all)

flush or drop the pan every 15K so far.

I've read that you shouldn't go over 30k miles.

I've had one flush but always pull the drain plug every other oil change since I do a lot of mileage, fluid always looks nice and cherry.

I'm thinking I'm going to do what I did on my fleet trucks. and send in a sample to blackstone at 30k miles.

the change interval was also 30 k on the trucks, and samples taken at 50k and 100k came back good on M1 fluid. the OEM fill on my 97s were shot at 30k according to the results and the smell/look.

drained TC and dropped pan, and flushed lines. How did you drain the torque converter? I thought the TC drain plug was dropped in '01?

Same question as Bob. I do the flush every 20K. My trans may get severe usage.
