Hey Everybody...
I really like the type of headlights that the Beamers use...Some call them "Halos" and I've heard them refered to as "angel eyes"...
Anyways, you know the ones that iluminate only the outside circle with a black center, during the day (daylights)...They look like cat eyes to me...
I would like your opinion as to how hard it would be to convert mine to that style???
What you guys and Gals think??? Personally, I think they would look wicked on the MM...
Thanks...

Randy I believe one member retro'd X5 lights into the MM housing, although I don't believe the X5's have the "Angel Eyes" feature. I haven't seen a Bimmer headlight up close so I really can't say how hard it would be to put them in. Got any junk yards close by so you could go look in person?

Yeah, I'm thinking of doing that...
But wanted some feed back if anyone had tried it and hit major road blocks, to the point that it would not be feasable to attempt...(price prohibitive)
But if no one has tried it yet, perhaps I could blaze that trail...

Need someone to do a photoshop pic of them. Personally I like the look with HIDs in the OEM housing, the "Angel Eyes" scream JDM and Euro, not American.

That's cool gentlemen...
I respect your views...and I would agree...IF we were talking about body panels, engine parts, Suspension parts, interior parts...Things like that...
I don't want to have a "Euro" look, anymore than you guys do...No way!
But in this case, I'm just talking about the bulb assembly...to be made to work within our headlight housing...
I understand, the light illumination (angel eyes) itself, is a reflection of Euro...But, to me that would be less than .13907295 % of a otherwise 100% Blown American car...Not enough "Euro" to justify rejecting, what I believe to be, a wicked look, when taken in as a custom look, unique to one car...Besides, I'm not one to follow the pack too much...
ALOHA
BTW: I have a pair of old functional headlights I will install them in...run them for awhile...and see if I still like the look...So no biggie either way for me...

Thanks Blackened300a for that link...But that is not quite what I had in mind...I'm not sure if thats the bulb assembly I'm thinking about...Are those "angel eyes"???...I don't think so...I don't want projectors...
I want it to look OEM by having it transition (blend) better...This one, you can see clearly where the housing ends and the light is stuck in a cut out hole...No dis-respect intended...that's not what I'm going for here...+ I would keep the mirror finish in the housing, and not paint it black...I don't want the lights to look tampered with at all...It must look OEM, except have "Angel eyes" in low light situations, but looks like a OEM lights when on...
But those pic's help me alot regarding what I don't want...

When I had my vette, was considering trying this project. The vettes lights where round, where the MM are kinda rectangular. Here is a link on how to make "angel eyes" for round lights, dont know if if would be possible to make them for ours, other than the above link...(which is cool looking,by the way..:bows:...)

Thanks alot will-dan1...That's the look I'm going for!!!...OEM with the "eyes"...
Never thought of doing it that way...Very interesting...
I see though that the reflective inner part of our lights may hinder it's effect, and make it a no go...
I'll probably experiment with my old set just for kicks...
Thanks again!

Randy, maybe just some LED's in the black area in each of the 4 corners might be cool. The ones with the cone-in heads and not the round dome heads woould spread the light around the black bezel for a cool 'glow'. If you purchased raw 5mm LED's, just wire the 4 for each light in series.
I have been considering same for mine, just finding the time and inclination!!
Besides, if I go doing that, I'm gonna do the reverse, side turn illumination and interior all at once and tie it all to the dome light supervision circuit so it lights on unlock from the keyfob or on switch as I choose.

That MM looks like T-2...the angel eyes on the honda looks ok, but is still a honda...from the guys description it looks fairly easy if you have the time, patience and equipment. But are you trying to retro fit them in beside the bulb or are you trying to put them around the bulb thats already there? I think it would look sweet...I like how they look on BMWs in low light driving. GOOD LUCK! And keep us posted...

Thanks Wes...That's the idea...Yea, I wanted to fit them around our lights Tito...However, the mirror finish inside our lights spreads the light negating the "look"...So, for me its a NO go...But I do like the fog light (photoshop) set up...
Thanks everyone for your contributions...
