I bought a stock alternator (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=43399)that had 22k miles on it for my car. Since my car is using the 2000 ECM, this did not work correctly. With many thanks to Dennis Reinhart (http://www.reinhartautomotive.com/), he set me straight as to what was required to get this to work in my application.

The end result is that I now have a low mileage, PCM controlled voltage regulator YF1U-10C359-AA (http://pasig.myphotoalbum.com/view_album.php?set_albumName=a lbum22)(Transpo (http://195.125.241.148/support/Flyer/fl1204.htm) F797 (http://www.transpo.de/cgi-win/product.exe?F797), USI 71-20018 (http://usi-automotive.com/html/front/bin/ptdetail.phtml?Part=71-20018&Rcg=101915)) from a Mercury Marauder that is unusable to me. Similar (https://www.tituswillfordparts.com/cart/?pn=F6DY-10316-A) to this item is about $65 list price from the dealer.

Here is my proposal, the first person to contact me (trio@muchomail.com)claiming dibs on this & who sends the forum a payment of $25 membership (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/payments.php)or an outright donation will get this item sent to them free from me. Have Mary send me an email or PM stating that she received your funds, then the item will be sent out to you.

I don’t need it but I just want to thank you that is very respectable of you to donate the money to the forum…. :)

It's only a small amount, but why not support the forum that we all like so much in any way possible?

This is not an original idea by me, it is from another site that I frequent where they have give away "Karmas" & support "Karmas". I personally don't believe in Karma, but giving back instead of taking all the time seems the right thing to do.

I just joined , don't know if I got dibs or not. But if I did, I too want you to recycle the challenge and the next "winner " can either accept the product or extend the challenge again, "pay it forward" Vince.

I do this kind of thing all the time...

I give away things that are useful to others, but not to me and separate the 'men from the boys' by way of site membership donation (flags).

:banana2:

Glad to see another doing the same.

Vince, I noticed that you have an early build Marauder... Did you have the axle TSB (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=34865&highlight=axle+tsb)done? Did you have any "head ticking (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=30885&highlight=head+tsb&page=2)" at all? Did you have the ECM flashed (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=43496&highlight=flash+tsb)for the latest tune from Ford?

A couple of other TSB's here (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=31971&highlight=head+tsb).

Now that I see your car might be a "bucket of bolts", I can take it of your hands very cheap;)

I can't sell it to you with a clear conscience. I'll continue suffering the shame of driving my "bucket of bolts" . Thanks for the link to the TSBs. My fuel guage does that tho, I can fill up and before you know it ,it drops very fast, are the TSBs factory recalls? By the way, what do you think of my mods? More to come.

Worthless without pics! LOL!

TSB's are "Technical Service Bulletins" that would have been covered under warranty. Not really a recall, but the service is done when a complaint occurs or if the dealership was proactive. A recall is usually done for higher risk issues, most are safety related. If you go to a dealer, they can run your VIN to see if any TSB's were done to your car.

You can still obtain the same service on your own without a warranty since the TSB's are basically instuctions on how to solve an issue.
