My 03 MM is stock except for the cold air intake and I am most likely going to keep it that way. My question is could I benefit from using a
SF3 Power Flash Handheld Programmer part number 3015, www.sctflash.com (http://www.sctflash.com). I have the chance to get one new for free if I want it but was not sure it would do me any good with a stock setup.
Has anyone here used on of those on their MM?

Call Dennis Reinhart and ask if he can load one of his tunes into it, and what his price would be. That way you get his tuning expertise, rather than whatever generic version comes on the free flasher.

The only thing I have done to mine is the Lidio tune on the SCT. BEST $400 bucks you can spend! You will not believe how much better your car will drive, perform and respond. Takes less than 5 minutes to install. Great deal if you get the tuner free. Just make sure it is unlocked.

I have one of the SF-3's. Only used it to go back & forth from stock tune to real tune f/p/o the local state emissions test. I'm interested as you are as to how to make the thing allow me to fiddle with the tune: lower octane fuel, read real-time results, change shift points, etc.

I'm not too swift on technicalities. Is it the Tune or the tuner that needs to be unlocked?

No MM, stock or not, should still be driving around on the stock tune that has the torque converter lug the engine down at 25 mph

First question; Is there a tune built into the SF3 that will work in the MM and make it shift and run better or do you have to get a tune from somewhere and have it done by a pro?
Second question; If there is a tune built into the SF3 how would I know which one it is that works with the MM and can a non tech type person such as myself install it?
Thanks in advance for the advice

Call me or Lidio, I offer free reburns for the life of the car, and you can not go wrong with either of us.

Just make sure to pull the fuel pump and cooling fan fuses in the engine bay fuse panel before starting to load the tune. That's what my instruction said to do. I only do it when switching tunes not when making adjustments.

This is only concerned with Mustangs The Marauder you really do not have to pull those fuses.

Oh ok, I just do it to be on the safe side, only takes 10 secs to do it anyways.

We don't believe in locking up our tuners around here. Free range, buddy! Where's PETA when you need 'em?

I appreciate all the advice but this sounds like a job for ---->NOT ME<-----
I think there might be a brand new SCT SF3 Programmer on ebay soon, it sounds like more that I what to get involved in. And besides my car is still under warranty and I don't want ot screw that up.

? Um okay. If you have a tuner you can swap back to the stock tune if you ever had to have the dealer work on the car. It takes like 2 minutes to swap tunes. You plug it in and press a button.
It doesn't get too much easier than this. The stock trans tune in the MM is so unbelievably bad that I did not own the car for long before I had to have it tuned. It feels like a clunker driving it until you can actually take advantage of the rpm range of the 4.6

Do NOT do this, do NOT pass up the free tuner. I recently got one (xcal2), and got a stock tune to load back into my dyno-tuned car just to see what it is like. I purchased my car with the dyno tune already in it, so had never driven a stock-tuned marauder before. Well, now I have, and the difference is amazing, The stock tune really dogs the car at around 25mph. This is totally corrected by both Dennis and Lidio, and makes the car a hell of a lot more fun to drive. You will seriously kick yourself in the future if you let this slip away.

I will call Dennis Monday and see about getting a tune in the programmer for my stock Marauder with a cold air intake since I assume there is no tune built into the programmer for it. I only need to be able to go back to stock since mine is still under warranty.
