I'd kind of like to go down to Union Grove Dragaway on one more Fun
Racing Weekend day to get a timeslip or two in this nice cold air.
Any Marauder or SS people from Milwaukee/Chicago area also interested?
After some runs, we can tip back a cold one and eat some Blooming Onions from Digger Dan. :)
I'm leaning towards Sunday November 3rd.
Post in here if you're interested.
Thanks,
Johnny
Yes! I'm interested. I'd like to get some runs in before the mods start. When is the last run time at Union Grove? Rt. 66 is done for the season, I think (for T&T). I live outside of Chicago. Is Byron still running? That would be closer for me.

Great Lakes Dragaway at Union Grove Wisconsin (just north of the IL border) is open until Nov 17th or later if weather permits. I've been
thinking of Sunday, November 3rd as a day to pop down there.

I haven't been to any other drag strips in the area. Where is Rte 66 located?
Oh, and Mensrea, supercharged Marauder would be great! :) Esspecially if we can find somebody (a sucker) with an SS to race ya. If we can't, I'll race you myself. ;)

Your supercharging your Marauder?! Where are you getting it done? How much is it costing? When will it be done? I can't wait to hear about the results!

Kenny Brown is doing it... and a whole lot more. They are working the suspension, brakes, tires, etc as well.
Cost is being determined as is total performance increase, but judging by his work with Cobras it's gonna be awesome.
I'll have more details in a week or two, they are almost done.
I believe Sean Hyland is also working up a stroked 5.2 liter that will be AWESOME as well.

Bishop... uh oh I hope a Lingenfelterd Impala doesn't show up...!
Check out what Lingenfelter can do to a 5.7 SS!
1996 Impala SS
350 CID engine package
440 BHP / 430 lbs-ft of torque
All that without a blower!!!!! Uh Oh...

We dont' need Lingenfelter to modify our cars for us. Mine runs 14.4's at 1200ft without headers, gears, stall. Only catback and some programming put me there.
http://dan.esteban.com/impalass/ReturnTopET.asp for a listing of the fastest Impala's that are known.
I've seen a stock Marauder run here in Phoenix in the summer. The guys in our club were running 14.8 to 15.2 and the Marauder ran a 16.2...
The guys running 15.2's had 20's on their car even.

Hello. I would like to extend a warm invitation to you folks to attend the "Southern Super Heavy Shootout 2". SSHS2 will be held Saturday, November 9th at Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, Ga. (off I-85 north of Atlanta, Ga.) from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. (Rain Date if necessary is Sunday, November 10th).
Invited entrants for this full day of Drag Racing and the Car Corral Car Show are General Motors B- and D- bodies (Caprice, Impala SS, Cadillac Fleetwood) and Ford Motor Company ?-Bodies (Lincolns, Marauders, Blackhawks, Crown Victoria's) and any other heavy (3800 lb+) American iron. This will be a unique opportunity to have a full day of only heavy American iron - no bikes and no rice.
As of this morning, almost 70 vehicles are pre-registered; as many as 200 are expected. Only one Marauder and four Lincolns have pre-registered so far. We sure would like to see you folks better represented. Come enjoy the great racing conditions and southern hospitality. There will be some SERIOUS heavy American Iron there. You will see at least two Impalas that have previously run 10.8 @ 128 mph or better.
Details may be found here:
http://www.sshs2.com/index2.htm
Come on down. We'd love to have you participate!

Tetsu keep the details coming! I just might be able to sneak way for that one
Wish I could go, but too far. A MM was at the track the other night and ran 15.52 on a nice cool 60 degree night in Jersey.
SSee ya!
