Hello Guru’s, I have hit the search button to see if I can come up with a solution and my results came up empty handed so I decided to create a post. Alittle recap, I bought a 99 CVPI that had all of the majors intact…..engine, trans, interior, etc. The guy said, they…..the police department took off the fan as well as the relay switches. I replaced all the fuses, bought a new fan as well as several other little items removed from the car, coils, etc. The car powers up, but there isn’t any power going to the ECU or the fuel pump and when trying to crank, the car simply spins over. To me, it sounds like a relay, fuse or something to that nature that simply isn’t installed that was removed. It seems like something simple, but I could be wrong. Is there a relay somewhere that I need to replace or install? Does anyone have a clue what it can be? Any suggestions or comments would be helpful and greatly appreciated.

Have you checked the Fuel Pump cut-off switch in the trunk? It should be the red button on the drivers' side.

Maybe try CVN?

You really should invest in a wiring manual for that car. Trying to troubleshoot issues like this over the internet where the car has been tampered with or modified by a previous owner is very difficult.

I see you've already asked this question on CVN...those guys are used to dealing with ex-police cars that have had the wiring butchered.

You should get a service manual and wiring book from Helm, Inc. like they said.

In the meantime there is a high current relay center, this is located near the ecm on the driver's side firewall area. This center includes relays for the ECM and fuel pump. It also has a spot for the ECM diode. If it is missing this could be your problem.

It is difficult to diagnose electrical problems without seeing the car and having a good wiring diagram and volt meter.

I hope this helped some.

this is ''snookey'' just took .my 04 mm out of winter storage. my mm has 27000 on it. the gas tank has ben full all winter. It started up o.k. Then about 5 miles down the road it died. Had it towed to a ford dealer. to check out. They said it needed a fuel pump.I can"t believe it needed a new fuel pump. Is this normal. I checked the button in the trunk that wasn"t the problem.
