I've replaced the motor and the MF switch. No I didn't replace the pigtail, I did however order one to be the last thing to try.

I think I tested just about every relay, module and fuse in the car this evening. Neighbor came over and asked if I was putting in a new wiring harness cause I had wires and stuff hanging out from under the dash and hanging out in the engine bay. I did tag everything to make sure it was put back in the correct place. On the pigtail connector to the wiper motor, I pulled the pins out cleaned them up even more and everything is still doing the same thing.

Just boggles my mind and :mad2: me off. So I'm going to deal with it until I get the pigtail connector and if that doesn't fix it off to the dealer it goes. I deal with vehicle wiring everyday for work, hell I've even made all new wiring harnesses for restored muscle cars, sometimes I think I would be better off with a classic MM that doesn't have all the electronics but I've been spoiled so I can give them up lol.

Chris,
Suggest that you contact BigDogJim on his experience with wipers. He had a particularly difficult time with his wipers and extensive multiple visits to the shop several years ago. Maybe your system has the same bug. :dunno:

Can you swap LCM's with a neighboring MM? (For that matter can LCM's from different cars be swapped or do they match up like with PCM codes...)

I had this problem several times. The first time the motor and wiring harness was replaced under warranty. The last time, the wipers just quit working. I replaced the MF switch and the motor, and neither fixed the problem. I ended up taking it to the dealer, and they said that a wiring harness down inside the fenderwell was rubbing and shorted out.

As things occurred in order starting almost 2 weeks ago.

Heavy rain for a weekend.
Went to work a Monday morning, wipers were working just fine.
Left to go to lunch and they came on by themselves and would not shut off.
Rain let up by the end of the day and I just pulled the fuse out.
Through out the week I only put the fuse in several times to use the wipers. At this point in time with the fuse in the wipers stayed on and also had no MIST/WASHER control.
Thursday I ordered a new wiper motor.
Last Saturday I replaced the wiper motor, cleaned all the gunk out of the cowl area and cleaned the pigtail connector (which it was pretty clean to start with).
After replacing the motor the wipers come on for 10 to 15 seconds if the key is on ACC or ON position then will turn off at wherever they stop out.
I can turn the wipers on and off at this point but do not have DELAY and the wipers only work in a two speed mode, first click up for longest delay is on Low speed and I can use the washer.
So the next step was to replace the MF switch, tried that yesterday and same thing was happening.
I got bored and frusterated I pulled the new motor out and put the old one back in with the new switch, made no difference.

And this is where I am now. I just think it's really weird that once the motor was replaced I gained some control back but when I put the old motor in and with the old MF switch they just stayed on and would not turn off unless I pulled the fuse or turned the car off.
