okay, so im having trouble finding a place that will align my car to Car Fixer's Specs without ripping me a new one. Covert Ford over here quoted me about $150 for a ONE TIME ALIGNMENT and NTB's price is comparable for a ONE TIME ALIGNMENT. what gives? why is everyone trying to charge me $150/hr? im getting pretty pissed off and am not sure what to do. i dont want to give $150 bucks to a crook, hit a pot hole and have to let him rob me again.
anyone have any suggestions? do i need to just find a local shop or something? ARGH
I always get my car aligned to factory specs and NEVER have a tire wear issue.

what kind of tires do you have? what do you keep the air pressures at?
i have OEM rubber and the fronts wear on the inside and the rears wear in the middle. :shake:

Ive had no problems ever with all of my cars.
Dreydin;
It is my understanding that car fixers specs are within the tolerance of stock MM specs, just requires the alignment fall within a tighter tolerance frame work.
I've tried several shops in my locale but my car will not adjust to the tighter tolerance. So, they got the wheels as close to car fixers specs as they could and that did indeed solve my inner tire wear issue. The shops are using the latest Hunter machines with Marauder specs not the old GM versions.
Cost was the standard alignment charge, both shops. My first alignment attempt was at 26K mark. The second was at the 48K mark. I have 60K on the car now and no inner tread wear issue. Just worn out tires.
My rear tires, BF Goodrich wear out quick in the center. I swear that are wearing out as the tech installs them.
I'm going with a different brand and soon.

Keep looking until you find a well recommended shop, or better F-L-M dealer. Unless your local prices are double my $75/hour local prices, they are way over-priced.
I do not believe the urban legend that hitting a pot-hole will ruin your alignment. If you bend something, then yes, you need a new alignment, and also the bent parts replaced.
I have hit curbs a few times in various vehicles, and the worst I've ever done is slightly bend a wheel rim, which doesn't require a new alignment. I worked in a Ford dealer's body shop for 4 years, and I have seen only 1 or 2 bent rear axle flanges (and steel wheels), from the car going into a curb, sideways.

For some reason on my car, I couldn't get caster even close to each other. One side was way positive and one was way negative. Camber and toe came in good though.

My car is aligned to factory specs and my front tire wear is uneven. I also keep my tires at 35 PSI. If CarFixer's specs are just higher tolerances, then it's possible that you were just lucky to be in the right range on the first try.

Firestone complete car care : 2600 locations $75 one time $140 lifetime no matter if you perform work (lower it) or you aim for every pot hole out there, they will stand behind their work. But no matter what the rear middles will wear faster than anything. I managed to get 45,000 miles out of the rear (bald) and changed the fronts at the same time, they were in decent shape with 32,000 but cheap to replace.

Carfixer's Specs are within Factory Specs.
I have NTB do mine.
If I can "pull any strings", I will do my best.

When I showed the tech Carfixers specs he said to me "Oh, you want the Crown Vic setup we use for all the police cars. It makes the tires last longer."
I got 28K from my first set of KDWS's (Bald, one had cord showing.) So far I have 25K on the second and they look like new.
Pay the $150 if you need to but get the front end alighned. It makes a big difference.
