This is for the 99 Crown vic I purchased not the Marauder. Both cars have the same electric climate control.
Heres my issue, My A/C will only blow hot. The compressor kicks on, the lines get cold but its not blowing the cold air into the cabin no matter what setting. I have air blowing out all the vents and it will switch to floor to defrost and back again with no issues. I have done the self test of the EATC and it came up with the codes 024 and 025. Thats a blender door malfunction.
My question for you guys is where is the hot/cold door located and how is it actvated? (Vacuum or electric?) Im also wondering if this is related to me doing the spark plugs this weekend and the back plug near the firewall on the passenger side is near a plastic diaphram with what looks like a bottle cap on top of it. It also has a white clip connecting the line to the compressor and a black line which goes directly to the intake manifold and pulls vacuum. There is also a plug on it and small vacuum line underneth it. What does this do??? When I did the plugs I unplugged it to make it easier to remove the spark plug, when I restarted the car I forgot to plug it in and the check engine light came on. I plugged it back in and cleared the code by disconnecting the battery. Does this have any control on the blender door for the hot/cold???
One last thing, There is a black line that comes off this plastic valve I described and it goes into a plastic line with a green cap that connects to the A/C system. Inside the cap is a valve, I pushed the valve in and nothing came out. Is there supposed to be pressure in there or is it a breather of some sort??

Thanks for any help, This has me annoyed :mad2:

oh oh, better call Reefer man....I would suggest that you disturbed a vacuum line somewhere with your plug change...

Run the A/C diagnostics.

I spent over a hour going through the vacuum lines and they all seem to be fine with no leaks.

It is probably your EATC control head. This can be repaired or replaced easily. Check your local used parts yard for a controller. Also search eatc. Good luck.

OK, I think some mechanically inclined elves worked on the car last night and the A/C is working perfect again. I even played with the thermostat to and from work and it works perfectly.
Im not complaining but its weird.

Sounds like your blend door actuator may be on the way out.

Replacement is not fun.

When my EATC went out, the ac acted just as yours is acting. Air from various outlets; would work ok some days and not at all on other days; then, it finally stopped working. Then, air came out of defrost and dash outlets at the same time and the ac would not work. I replaced the eatc with a used one and all was ok. Or, I have read, replacing the "O" rings in the eatc may fix it. The blend door is a pita to work on so make sure the eatc is ok first - it is easy to replace.

I had that happen in the Marauder and the dealer replaced it. Im already looking at one on Ebay to keep on hand in case this goes.
