I was just wondering what the average price range would be for the 4.10 gear change including parts and labour?
The quotes I've been getting around town seem a little higher than what I've read around here.
Thanks.

My memory is a little foggy but I think I paid like 450 to 500 for parts and labor.

Get the Gears where ever they are cheapest.
I paid $200 for the install from a local speed shop.

Here in the lower 48, FRPP gears will run you *about* $200-$240 and installation anywhere from $200 to $350. Remember there are incidentals, like shims, crush sleeve, a new pinion bearing, lube, friction modifier...

I may need to find out some Canadian pricing. I have labour quotes of anywhere from $385 to $425...
Parts seem to be in line. One shop even gave me a quote using used gears in good shape. Any drawbacks going with the used?

Yes. Used gears will almost never run quiet (I have tried this several times). Once you run gears in, any deviation from the old pattern (and it will be nearly impossible to get the SAME pattern unless you literally use the same housing -- deviations in housings such as pinion bore deviation, will place the pattern differently heel/toe on a gear set) will make the gears whine.
DO NOT use used gears unless you really can't afford new. But if you can't afford new, I would really wait until you can. You will hate yourself if you try to save $100-150 and you end up with loud gears on the highway. Trust me on this. I've been there and done that. THe risk is not worth the payoff at all.
I would be very hesitant to use a shop that would recommend installing used gears. Most shops would not touch a set of gears that have already been burned in.

I bought new gears and there is no whine, but I've also heard of some guys on the site installing new gears and getting a whining sound, so I think there's a risk either way but probly more likely to get a whine out of the used ones.

For true brotha man. Stay away from the motive-manufactured Ford Racing gears if you can. There are tons and tons of mustang forums with complaints about installers not being able to get them to run silent, because they are not machined to the same level of quality as the real Ford gears.
50% of gear noise is due to manufacturing and the other half is setup. You can't make an inferior gear set run quiet with any amount of setup perfection, but you can also make a perfect gear set noisy with improper setup. It goes both ways.
Then you have situations like my camaro with Richmond gears (supposedly the worst) with some unknown installer, and they are super quiet.

When I had my gears put in, I shopped around for labor costs and the cheapest was for $400 bucks. The most expensive was over $700!

Hey Justin. Where was that? Is it in the Kelowna area? Do you already have 4.10's in?

I paid a little over $900. The job was more than just 4.10's. The job was new 4.10 gears, fluids, install, and an install of a new Torque Converter.

My local Linc-Merc dealer gets $500, just for labor.

My local Ford dealer screwed my gears up so bad, that I ended up throwing them out, starting over, and buying my own Rotunda tool in the process. Make sure you have word of mouth that wherever you go, has successfully set up 8.8s for people. Even some dealerships do not do this work often, and may not get it right.
