Hey guys going to Gulf Shores in a couple of weeks so what would you guys do rent a car or take the MM. My problem with taking the MM is one no garage, two the milage, but also enjoy stopping and talking to people about the car. The big thing is no garage if i hit bad weather on the way down that had hail in it that would ruin the entire trip. I can rent a full size car for $186 a week. Let me know what you think.

If you got the money to rent a car I would go for it, get yourself a Grand Marquis. That's what I always try to rent when I go out of town for business or pleasure.

That "what if" stuff will drive you crazy. Something can happen where you have it parked. It's a car, you bought it to drive, enjoy the ride .....take the MM. :)

Plus the added insurance for you to drive the other large rented car will kill your trip. And the MPG thing is a non issue if you rent a Grand Marquis.

Take you Marauder and enjoy the trip. Even parked it can be damaged, so you might as well be saved by it than saved by a rental and come home to find out it was stolen or some such thing.

PS It is just a car.

IF something happens...thats what insurance is for...IF you rent a car...it will be sunny and the nicest trip you ever went on...without your Marauder...Plus think about it like this...that $190 can go to gas for YOUR car, instead of the cost of rental and gas. But ultimately the choice is yours.

What if....

the car gets hit by a meteor?

someone hits a light pole and it hit your car?

a tidal wave hits and submerges your car?

a sinkhole swallows your car....

etc....

Its a freaking car, drive it.

Why else did you buy it in the first place?!

$186 a week is nothing, I'd rent, and have peace of mind.
