Saw on CNN from some boston news channel (http://www.thebostonchannel.com/video/16199294/index.html) that some kid in what looks like a mercury, did a few stunts on a school field / parking lot. And while I wouldn't condone such behavior, I commend him on his skill in "dukes of hazarding it", and I sure hope that it wasn't an MM.

Def not a MM, but rather a 95-97 MGM.

They should let him go with no charges.

That is just plain awesome. Very good use of a grand marquis. I like how the article had to add that people were "running for their lives".

I'm glad I'm not the only one who went "cool" when I saw it jump. Well I had already heard of the story just didn't realize about the jump. I noticed they showed it over and over again on the news footage.

Actually it's a '98+. You can clearly tell the difference in headlights.

My bad you are right, but it is a pre 03' though.

I didn't notice any kids in such close proximity to warrant those 11 charges but perhaps more video footage would tell a better story. Also, has anyone seen the latest "Report Child Abuse" type commercial that shows some little girl missing her school bus, then has to walk to school with her books?
So, big deal!!! How in the hell is that a form of child abuse?
What's our world coming to these days? :mad2:

wrong, 98-02

I saw this over on CVN, and although what was done was wrong, it still made me laugh seeing a 2 ton grandma-rquis fly thru the air

ahh I see, yeah after watching a few more times, it definitely looks like a 98. The front end was blurry the first few times I saw it, and perhaps it was wishful thinking that it was an MM that made that jump and survived.

If some mod reads this, move the thread to the lounge.

Yes, it is a pre 2003 MGM.
Nice take off, good landing, wrong place.

It would have been best to do that when no one was around... no trouble from anyone. Clearly this guy wanted the attention.

I love how they say Cah instead of Car. hehe

Bid deal! He drove through the grass, tore up the field a bit, and did a decent jump. Obviously a kid showing off. "Lives endangered", what *********.

God help him if he had a joint in the car or the Feds would be seizing his parents house about now. It's amazing what people can find to get worked up about.

NormThere is a big difference between tearing up the field when no ones around and doing it during practice or a game, when someone is videotaping.

I completely agree with you Ken. So what if this guy was wreckless, but it was during a time when the field was in use or at least that is how the media is putting it. Sounds like it was planned from the people who video taped it being that they mentioned the Dukes of hazard before the car even made the jump.

Bottom line is if your going to have fun like that make sure the only people around are your buddies!

Indeed both of you are correct, it seems that it was slow day at the news desk and the media was once again over hyping a kid just screwing around near a park, school, or something.

While on the other hand, there is a time and place for most anything, and running buck wild on public property with a hazard, and generally wrong, this doesn't seem to be the case with this guy and no one was hurt/gravely indangered.
