Thinking about replacing my factory trans pan with a higher capacity pan and was wondering if anyone has used the deep pan with the COOLING TUBES running from front to back.
If so how did it work for you as far as cooling and were there any leakage issues.
Thanks in advance for all replies.:)

I just purchased an Art Carr deep trans pan from Reinhart.

I have the TCI deep pan with DR's tranny cooler. I must say that's a pretty good combination along with the PI TC.

If you are concerned about trans cooling go for the big Long trans cooler - its great.

I'd just replace the stock with an E-350 pan and change the fluid every
30K .

How many qts. does the 350 pan hold over the stock pan?

I assume that you are talking about a Derale trans pan. My son had one on his 99 Camaro, very well made and inexpensive since it's made out of steel. I've called Derale about a year ago and they do not made a pan for our trans and have no plans to do so.

I got this as well from Dennis, when I bought the PI 3000 and Art Carr Level 2 trans kit from him. It holds a lot more fluid, and the fins work well to keep the trans cool. My guy welded a bung into the left rear of the pan for the tranny temp gauge sensor, and I have never had the temp go over 180, and that's only after several WOT sessions. From what I understand 160-180 is ideal for our cars.

Warren, who is a smart MM owner out here (not sure if he's still online), actually had some heat transfer paint that he painted his with, to facilitate heat dissipation, but just the regular finned pan worked great for me so I didn't bother. Looks neat as well.

Out here the temps are so mild I haven't bothered with a secondary cooler, esp. as my car is still N/A. I gather that the stock cooler is pretty good actually. I may do it later if I ever notice temps climbing past 180.

How many qts. does the 350 pan hold over the stock pan?None. The E-350, AKA the "U-Haul" pan is identical to the stock MM pan, but has a factory-installed drain plug. I have one on both cars and it makes periodic ATF changes as easy as changing the motor oil.
