Hey all,
been reading like crazy since I purchased my fathers Marauder. He is a salesman in Northern Ontario Canada and drove the Marauder for 4 years. He gave it to me as a project and I can't wait to restore here as she is looking beat up:(
Can anyone tell me if those Ebay non OEM headlights/corner lights are worth purchasing? I need a set bad as they are are sand blasted!
Let me know,
P

I have a set of the aftermarket headlights/corner lights in my closet at home. I bought them "just in case" & they look identical to me. I would be willing to sell them since I also have a set of factory ones now.

Thank you for the info. I think OEM is the way to go as I've now used the search button with more luck and the quality is not the same:(
Now I need to find a supplier of the chrome bits around the front and rear doors!
Anyone have a Ford Part number?
Thank you in advance for the help,
P

Got my calculation from here...

Yours is multiplied by .62 while my answer was multiplied by the longer version with a couple more numbers behind the .62

I had to leave the car in Canada while I'm out of the Country till June 1st:mad:
It needed full rear brakes including calipers to pass mechanical. I will send pics of the rusted out paint on the car. Please watch the seems on your doors as they rusted on the rears.
Paint is also flaking off most of the car!? Big baseball size chunks in spots:(
Painter quoted me $3600 CAD for full paint with all molding and stuff removed

That price for paint is more than reasonable if they use quality paint and do a good job. You could easily spend more than $5,000 US for a better-than-OE quality all-over job, using good quality materials.

Hey VicsEvilbrother,
that is what I tought! I'm sure labour alone to remove window and all trim is pretty high in $$$$$
Still thinking about bringing it down South to find a painter near me though,

Why don't you just do this around the doors. The previous owner of my car did this to mine and I never noticed it wasn't stock till I read about the mod on this site.

On my wife's Mark VIII the headlites looked like your description...
I wet sanded them with 600 Grit paper then used polishing compond (with polisher) and they look like new (Not really, but they look great).
Be sure and mask off the surounding surfaces. There may be some posts on this here...you might try a search...hope this helps...cheaper than buying new ones...:D

I did try the sanding thing. Roads up North are brutal on the front end of cars. This vehicle was used on the highway 100% of it life in Northern Ontario!
Good news is the painter won't need to sandblast very much:D

Have Ray the Dealer ship you a set to a US member and make a road trip across the border and swap them out before crossing back.:D
