I have a valve body kit, 180 degree tstat and retune at home waiting for install. I'm also in the process of porting and polishing my plenum. So it's time to start saving for my next set of mods and I need your advice.
I'm thinking of either a 3500 stall converter and dyno tune from Darrin or a 65mm TB, throttle body spacer (if available) and 90mm MAF w/ retune. The intake mods would be cheaper but I would not get near the gains w/ them as I would with the TC. But, on the other hand, if I did the intake mods, I'd be completely done w/ the intake (I already have a CAI, PHP spacer and the ported/polished plenum will be done w/i the month). So which route would you guys do and why. Eventually, it will all be done, just seeing which one should be done first in your opinions. Thanks for any suggestions.

Go with the tourque converter, mine is en route to my house as we speak, can't wait to get it in, what about a set of kooks for your next mod?

Porting the upper plenum is a complete waste of time. Go right ahead and do it, it will net you ZERO power gains.
Throttle body is also a $300 waste of money.
90mm MAF is also a waste of money.
Get a torque converter and headers, then drive over to SuttonHP and have them tune it.

I do plan on going with the kooks exhaust system some time in the future, just after the things I mentioned already. It looks like I'll be doing the TC first. The plenum maybe a waste of time, but it's something I want to do. I've done a lot of searching and reading about about the TBs and it seems like something I want. Yes, I know it only added 3 hp (for 300 bucks, not good) but many members that use them say they gave a nice throttle response and SOTP feeling and many said it was money well spent. I have not researched the 90mm MAF much, but I did read in one of the TB posts that DR recommended it. I'll do some more searching on the MAF when the time comes for me to seriously consider it. Thanks for the replies.
I love my 3500 RPM torque converter And my 4:10 gears.

If I spent $300 bucks, I certainly would not post up stating it didnt do squat.
It doesnt do squat :flamer:
And DR recommends the 90mm MAF with a Blower.

Mest.....I'm no expert, but this was my most recent mod, and I have to agree with this ^^^^ 100%. These two things turned my car into a monster. Well, as much of a monster as it could be N/A at least.

solid mid 13's is very fast for a TINY 281 cubic inch engine in a 4200 lb car. That is crankin' for an NA car!

What Zack said, TC = Tire Boilers . Headers = more power all the way through and the peak is sweet.
