Anyone have any knowedlge of these tires?

I am considering purchasing a set for the Marauder. A 255 55 18 KDW went flat and cannot be repaired.

I spent 6 hours yesterday researching options including trying to find a used KDW 255 55 18 to no avail.

I am considering the Goodyear, but the price is very dear.

I want to thank everyone who contributed to this forum, in particular Red for the Wikii.

I believe the following members have them on their cars: STLR FN (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/member.php?u=3267), QWK SVT (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/member.php?u=2259), and MichaelGarmon (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/member.php?u=8457).

In my opinion, the price is the only bad thing about them. Also, they're not all season tires, so you should consider this if you live in an area that gets a real winter.

Glad to help, and sorry to hear about the tire situation.

Yeap I have em on my Marauder. Good tires over all. I've had em since early last year. Wearing fairly even across the rear. Fronts would be better if my dealer would actually use carfixer's alignment specs.

Little squirrelly in wet weather when a heavy foot is applied to the go peddle. Used them in the winter and had no issues with them. Personally when these wear out I'll be getting another set.

Got my rears for 105 plus shipping from tire-easy.com and my fronts for 124 at Discount tire after they price matched Sears.

Thanks for the honest review!

To be honest, I have limited seat time with the Falkens (about 500 miles, now), so take this for what it's worth...

So far, I'm really happy with the tires. The look great, and have a relatively aggressive tire pattern. Because I have limitied miles on them, I cannot speak to wear. The tires are a softish compound...

Most of my driving time spent since purchase has been in wet conditions. During normal driving in rain, the car hold the road very well. Even with +1 inch of water covering the road, there are no feelings of looseness in the rear end, which I previously felt. STLR FN - has the wet traction progressively deminished since you put them on, or are you just too heavy with the go pedal, in general?

In dry conditions, the tires feel far superior to the stock BFGs. The latteral handling has improved, and there seems to be less sidewall flex (even with the slightly taller tire in the back). From a standing start, the tires squeal a little bit, but grab and go. There's a slight chirp on the 1-2 shift, but, again, it feels much more controlled, compared to the BFGs.

Overall, I'm very pleased with how the tires have performed (during my limited testing). For daily driving purposes, I would buy another set, based on my experience, to-date.

In a few weeks I'll be heading to a track, at which point I'll see how they perform, there. Based on how they hook on the street, I would think they'll will 60' slightly better than the BFGs, but time will tell.

There is another thread (this month) discussing those tires.

I think that thread is relating to the H speed-rated tires, which are not a good option for the MM.

The S/TZ01 series should be a decent replacement for our cars.

The thread is here (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=44018) and was focused on the Z01 tires. Wes recommended avoiding the H speed-rated version (i.e., the Z04).

Thanks for pointing this (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showpost.php?p=614122&postcount=2) out. Several members, including those mentioned above, have opted for and reported decent results about these tires, so I've moved it to the common combinations section on the tire article (https://www.mymarauder.com/wiki/index.php?title=Tires#Tire_Com binations).
