The Rochester, NY paper this morning carried the review of the Marauder by PAUL & ANITA LIENERT (The he drove, she drove column)
He liked it except for the Mercury badging and thought the car should have more of it's own personality. She said, she heard comments of "depressing and "old looking". He also was not pleased with the handling of the car and the fact that the Marauder is not as fast as it looks or sounds. She also feels it is overpriced. End result, she rates it one star (subpar) he gives it 2 stars (acceptable).
Hey, I still like it, sorry.

The review of the Bullitt by those two goofballs was laughable. What's the point of two old fuddy-duddy's reviewing muscle cars or sports cars? It's as asinine as a young single guy reviewing mini-vans. Bottom line; they suck.

I don't care what they think and I won't help them make their car payments, either.

The MM is a car with a cult following and those of us who participate on this message board understand it. I hate when they describe it as "grandpa's car" or "boring" etc..... yeah, we know about the lack of power off the line, but look at the whole package..... What domestic car manufacturer can offer a body on frame, full sized sedan with the MM package......

What I love most is how He loved the SS for its "cop motor, cop shocks, cop tires..." and roughly the same vehicle comes out a few years later and he's like, "it would get old quick..." I guess She has had him snipped. She gave almost the same criticisms of the MM as the SS.
Every women who has ever ridden with me has loved the car. Not all have figured they would want to own one, but all have commented on the barely contained power and the solidity and comfort of the car.
One of my best woman friends intends to get a LT1 9C1, so she can have all of the performance of the SS at a lower price. The first time I stomped it, she was like, "Do It Again, Do It Again!!!"
Put 4.10s, a blower or a 5.4 in, and you have the same thing with the MM. Hmm, maybe all three... When this one is paid for, if a convertible MM exists, it will be my next car.

Ahh, but mine is also looking at a 71 -73 Buick Riveara, Boat tail. God what a dino!
The last paragraph in the article calls in to question "He's" credentials.
He said that Chevy didn't sell enough Impala SS's.
1996, which was the SS's last year of production was it's best.
SS's was killed off due to new 1997 side impact standards and the need for pickup production at the Arlington, Texas plant.

that's often the case with reviewers such as them, and not just on automobile tpics. Somehow these people get, and keep the jobs!
