Yes I got the approval to supercharge the Marauder but here is my delema..Right now the car gets driven to work (2km) MAYBE twice a week...and rarely on weekends (mall parking lots..come on) and I have a set of 4.10's I haven't even installed yet. There is really no room around here to use the power I have now let alone supercharger power...
BUT do I do it because this will never be allowed again and I MIGHT get challenged to a race (there is a little track around here)
Or spend the money elsewhere later and enjoy what I have now...
Thoughts?

Yesterday I floored my S/C for a brief moment and my 11 year old became very animated. In her own words, "I thought I was going to flip over backwards in this rocket ship".
You will never regret getting an S/C, you will always regret not getting an S/C.

Hey Justin. I've actually decided not to go with 4.10's. Its gonna cost about a grand after tax. Just can't justify the bang for buck..especially with gas prices what they are. Going with sway bars as my next mod. As for supercharging....thats a tough one. Depends what you want to use the car for I guess. To me it seems like alot of money to spend if you don't hit the track regularly. I got pulled over by a cop the other day (Mothers day) for gunning it uphill on a deserted road. He let me off with a warning and said I could have lost my license at the speed I was going. I can't imagine what I'd be like with a blown MM cause I'd just be tempted all the time to punch it. I know Ian wants one for street racing and the occasional track time (he's tired of getting blown away by Cobalt SS's). I love my car more for its style and look then for its speed and power, but thats just me.

"with great power comes great responsibility" when i got mine yes it was tempting to stomp it everytime but when you realize how fast this thing burns gas and how fast u can get a ticket you tend to turn it down a lil or like i like to do is stay out of boost and it rides like a regular car until i get on some open road or highway

Depending on the blower you may want to put those gears on ebay. Mine is a daily driver with stock gears. It's ridden hard and put away wet.
If you do get blown make sure to allocate funds for the brakes.
You WILL need to upgrade them in order to be safe.

I agree with Badger!! Get the blower while you can. Ditch the gears and use the dinero for brakes! Be Happy!

If Bunneh hadn't won the damn thing in a raffle, I wouldn't have spent the money on a blower for The Blackbird. Not that I mind it being there, I just wouldn't have spent that kind of money for something I rarely use. Phoebe is fast enough for me N/A...save your money for other mods.

Well then, start off with DR's entry level small blower, non-intercooled kit. You could get that and have $$ left over to upgrade the brakes. As you become "responsible", you can add an intercooler, upgrade to a bigger centri unit etc.
My Trilogy is shipping right now, will be in Oregon by Friday (says UPS). I have a feeling my fuel card will keep me responsible enough. $1.42 per litre!
It is sweeeeet to see the 3 BC Stooges (you, me, and Derek) all have such great wives! BTW, you two feel free to get the starter level kit; I'll look forward to beating both your tinted bad-boy looking Blacks with my stock looking silver Grampa car!:P Street presence means nothing if you can't back it up. Look at many ricers like older Skylines and newer 350Zs. Look great with body kits and exhaust, but you'll rarely see them spin a tire.
Justin, my guess is that the most important thing is being able to spank some idiot when he deserves it. 4.10s will never get you that. 0.2 in the quarter mile doesn't look like much when you're going door to door from a stoplight...you want a lot of car lengths quick.
Heya Derek, I'm guessing the officer HEARD you before he saw you, or at least got you noticed much quicker than my stock exhaust would've. 80-140 mph in Oregon for 30 mins and only a look or two from cruisers that weren't sure if I was a CVPI or not. Silver car, black grille....it's all about that moment of indecision and hesitation before deciding to pursue or release, baby! I'm dead-set against street "presence" for my car, blending into the background lets me glide through road checks, radar checks, and spot inspections.
Your car gets street cred for it's looks alone; back it up with some horsepower.:burnout:

Ian, this pretty much sums it up for me...plus don't think I have anything to prove to anyone.
Its cool how we can love the same car for almost completely opposite reasons. Thats the beauty of the Marauder!

The big thing is i work at "Chrysler" and with the new Challenger coming off the production line yesterday and all the chargers hanging around up here.. would be nice to at least hold my own in the power department

AMEN, BROTHER!:banana2: One car does it all!!:D
Though if that is your reasoning for the case, don't buy those new swaybars, since you'll raely be cornering hard enough to overstress the abilities of the stock swaybars....same goes for a bigger brake kit.;)

SUPERCHARGE IT!!!! Dont think about it JUST DO IT !!!!!!!!!!!
:burnout:
The Selection and Install:
I have been where you are now, being practical or being Supercharged?
The expense of a kit was such that I went with 4:10 and X-Cal the first year, a 100 shot nitrous system the second year and a 3500 RPM Torque converter the third year and although the car was quick I was still burning for a Supercharger.
When Reinhart Automotive offered the NOVI non-intercooled versioin for 4K, I jumped on it. Yes, I died and went to heaven.
It's a man thing, like the song says. "faster cars, younger women, and more money", Ha.
Who will do the install and tune? Get that lined up to minimize down time.
Check Reinhart Automotive's forum for complete details.

Do it. You can't take the money with you when you die.

I will be doing the install, and DR will just send me the "safe" tune for the charger...since there are no trusted tuners up here it will stay the way DR want it......Yeah leaning towards doing it...really the marauder is now just a weekend warrior and a big toy might as well make it faster :)
