Okay, this was both annoying and embarrassing.

At 12:30 am, with the whole family asleep, and the Marauder parked in the driveway, the horn decides to start blowing.

It took me a few minutes to wake up and realize, Hey, that's MY car!?

Pressing the red alarm button on the key fob did not stop the horn. I had to go out, open the door and put the key in the ignition before the horn would stop blowing.

This was not a beep-beep-beep like when you hit the red button on the fob, but a continuous blowing of the horn. It probably lasted 4 minutes before I got it to stop.

Now, I have disconnected the battery to prevent recurrence, but that was annoying!

Anyone have this happen to them with their Marauder? If so, what did you do to fix it?

It's lonely. Take her for a drive. That's what happens when you ignore a Marauder

If you put a club on the steering wheel that could do it.

I do, and I thought about this, but I don't think I had it on last night.

If the L-M dealership can't find anything tomorrow, I'll try leaving the club off, and the horn connected and see if it recurs.

Thanks.

I'll bet that's what did it.

I would leave it off permently, all a thief has to do is cut the steering wheel with a bolt cutter. Small diameter metal is all that's under that leather and padding.

If you really want to keep it don't put the body of the club over the air bag, move it up higher, and over the air bag.

I think I'm going to follow your advice and leave it off permanently. It chews up the steering wheel cover (on the rim) anyhow.

I had the same thing happen to me about 12 years ago on an old Chrysler at 0230 on a Monday morning. The one contact in the horn relay collapsed onto the other one, completed the circuit, and woke us all! New horn relay, no more problem.
