I'm in love with what he did with the wheels. Is that regular powdercoating or something different?

MMMMkay. I am still not into scoops on this car, but I think his car is fast enough to get away with it! I really like what Cruztakr did with his stock wheels (see the "wheels" section, I was just posting about them).

What I find really funny, is that people are blacking out the stock bling bling wheels (I am going to copy Cruztakr once I am moved into my new house and have the time to play w/ cars again)

Its too much black for me...I like the rims the way they are...they are blinding when they are clean! :coolman:

But since he went that route...bout time to tape up that chrome around the windows eh?

Thank you for the compliments.

It's powdercoating on the wheels.

The hoodscoop was just set in place for mockup for those pics, but once the new motor combo goes in I'll probably have to put it on permanently and cut a hole in the hood for clearance.

back when I still had money, I pondered getting four spare rims (non-polished) and having them coated or paint them for a spare set.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for the powdercoating?

No disrespect but I think I like my pride and joy and lot better.

That's what I did. After having a pair of them widened. Then I got another pair widened and coated so I have matching rims on the street tires and racing tires.

One shop I used charged $80 each, the latest shop I started using charges $60 each.

Powdercoating done correctly outside and the entire INSIDE with clear coat over the product (and in my case polishing the lip) was $275 per wheel.

If i was going black rims with chrome lip it would definately be a more full center different rim. Probably looks great in person but the photo they almost just look spray painted. Atleast your trying to personalize.

Why tape, I use midnight fingernail polish, it works great, takes a little patience, but if you get a chip, you just touch it up.

I had to go black when I bought the car. I thought to have my stockers powdercoated but I need a lip. She still makes me smile everytime I look at her.

It looks evil - but far from the best ever. The hood scoop and rear wing should go. I kinda like this one;

Though I will be taking a set of Marauder rims in this week to be blasted and powder-coated ( black inside and out -and- a clear-coat ). $75 per wheel ( blasted and powder-coated ).

The paint won't stick to faux chrome.
3M designed a tape for this very purpose, and it last several years before it is easily removed with a heat gun and and replaced. ;)

Nice car, but you know what they say about opinions...........

Too much black IMO. People that live in winter states almost can never pull off black wheels due to the fact that high-perf cars have black steelies on when the snow gets here.

Like the hood scoop Brian. I ordered my new cowl induction hood the other day from Class Glass hoods. I think it looks great on our cars.

Not my speed. Looks like something Mad Max would drive. Then again, I'm kind of partial to the silver birch rides. :D But if it makes the owner happy, then that's all that really matters.

What you need to realize is FordNut is related to Mad Max:lol:.
