No, not a ghost...

But...I was going over some pictures I took over the weekend. I was taking some shots outdoors, and beforehand was playing around taking a few bird feeder shots at different settings to see how they looked.

I was going through to toss out those shots, but this one caught my eye.

I think it was taken at 800iso, 200mm, and 1/1600 shutter.

Here's the normal shot:

And if you didn't notice the bottom right corner, here it is in larger size:

I guess this dude was coming in for a landing or something, or jumped really high, still, mid air you'd think you'd have wings deployed. :)

That's wild. Good capture.

From the angle of the feeder, it looks like he/she might have just jumped from it, but hadn't yet deployed his/her wings. That's a cool shot. Thanks for sharing.

You guys, how can you be so uninformed?

That bird is obviously an Osprey (V-22 classification). They have wings, but can take off and land straight up and down!

Geez, even this Canuck figured it out!:D

I disagree .... it's obviously a Kiwi 'cause it has no visible wings. ;) ... and I didn't know Mike was in New Zealand this past weekend :D

Mike, remember the Ham radio tower? I watched a Bluebird launch straight down, wings closed, until just before he hit the birdbath. Those guys are so cool. :)

Yeah! That sounds like quite a divebomb! Must be a stunt bird :)
