That's the end of the island man. But it sounds good, It will depend on day and time for me. After carlise I guess.

Absolutely ! I would be interested. But it would also depend on the date for me as well.

Traffic through the Hamptons can be a nightmare. Similarly we could also go to Orient Point State Park. Should be less traffic on the North Fork.

Or we could do both...on different weekends of course.

Depending on the time/date I could grab a ferry out 'o New London for this and it would put me right on the doorstep of OSP.

Prefer the North Fork but I'll try wherever. I could grab the N/S ferries across Shelter Island to get out to Montauk (SOOOPER nice out there) but may be more/less the hassle of going all the way around.

My sis lived out in East Hampton for a while (lived in Wading River too) so I have a halfway decent map in my head from all my trips over there.

How about sat June 21st The first day of Summer 2 pm Lower parking lot in front of the picnic tables at Montauk light house. If it Rains then sunday.
Bring food!

I could do that! Liking the Saturday idea...leaves room for rain (and if we can pull off a Saturday I still have a day to wind down before going back to work on Monday)....

I would like to see as many Marauders come as possible so If this date is good for you chime in. lets get a head count to see if its worth doing on the 21st This is a great local for a get togeather plenty of room to line up all the cars and alot of barbeques and picnic tables.

Ok, its 4 days to the first day of summer and Montauk is having a Harbor festival aswell on sat, a big Party! so if anyone is into a good time forsure it would be worth the drive just for that alone. so between now a sat let me know if you are going to be meeting at the montauk lighthouse say between 1 and 2pm on sat.. Chime in if you plan on being there. MARAUDERS RULE!

South shore, Route 27 at the end of the island. You can't go any further. :D Look for the 110' 6" pointy building. >>>> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montauk_Lighthouse

From Brooklyn --- take the Belt Parkway east to the Southern State to Route 27, Sunrise Highway then about 65 more miles due east.

I would love to make this trip -- but 400 miles is a bit too far this time.

Yeah, it would be interesting to get back up that way again. I lived on the Island for 2 years back in '78-'80. Can't believe it has been almost 30 years since I visited Montauk and the lighthouse. :eek:
