Well, I finally made the decision to trade my 04 MM. :(As I was cleaning out the car, I was saying Did I make the right decision. Getting an 07 Cherokee SRT-8.
I know I'll miss the MM but considering that they are only giving me $14K, and she only has 48K miles, I wonder what it will be worth next year.
Have enjoyed this site with all the great information.
Keep enjoying your rides.

I was cured of the Cherokee interests when following my Dad to the ariport when he was dropping off my Brother inlaws Cherokee and I was following along behind. THe brakes lights kept going on and off and I was wondering what he kept putting the brakes on for. I asked him at the airport and he said he didn't put the brakes on. Not on the highway anyway. The lights just randomly would blink. I knew then that it was no longer a Jeep and was now a Chrysler.

I would never buy a chrystler product personally... all the ones I have seen have had trannys replaced before 100,000 miles!!! And with all that power in front of one of those trannys.... sheesh.... They are nice looking and sound good though, so if you have the money to keep it on the road... HAVE FUN WITH IT!!!

When in dout don't do anything unless it involves life or death. Indecision is not the right decision it's just no decision. When ever I'am in that situation I do a Ben Franklin. Take a piece of paper draw a line down the middle. At the top on one side write yes the other side no. List all the positive on one side all the negativeon the other side. Then add them up and you have mad your dicision. Use all logic and no emotion.

I can say that prior to deciding on the MM I drove the SRT-8 version of the Cherokee and a few others. The Cherokee was a BLAST out of the hole especially with a little power brake, let off the brake and mash the gas. However, after I waxed one in the MM I knew I made the right decision. PLUS not having a car payment really is nice.
Best of luck to you and the only decision that matters is your own.

A quick look at the Edmunds review and specs and yes it does look good. MPG is ok. Performance is nice, size is ok not great in the back but ok. It had an interesting comparison to the R8. I wouldn't mind see the comparison to a SC Marauder though. No side airbags though the crash tests are all good. I bet it has a Mercedes gearbox.

Oh and the other thing is that it has no spare tire. Not something I wanted to risk with the wife driving with our kids.

The spare is most likely under the car. Real handy in bad weather.

I saw one run an 11.8 in 97* weather. It darted all over the track.
I would get a Chyrs ESP and sell it be fore the plan expires.
They are fast and you will have a lot of fun!:D

I sincerely wish you to enjoy your JEEP better than I did.
I had one that I kept 3 years 1/2. I spent on tuning about the same amount of money as the car (new) price to get it running as I wanted (engine tune, suspensions, etc). The JEEP was finally going well, while I never could go over 13 mpg. But when the gearbox exploded at 65000 miles AND WHEN I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS KIND OF NORMAL, AS THIS OFTEN HAPPENED on that model (V8), I decided that I would never buy JEEP again !

Your trading a Marauder for a Jeep....don't let the door hit you on the way out.
I am such an a** at times.

All of you guys getting such low trade in offers should call me before trading it in!
I'm looking for a low cost MM and would give a you a little more than the trade in value they offered you.

You're not the only one. I guess this is the end of an era, everyone is selling their cars. I guess it proves who's into the Marauder and who isn't. The Jeep looks like fun too, but like beer bottles on sidewalks.... they are everywhere.
Long live the Marauder!

Yeah,he said he kinda misses "the respect" he got while driving the Black Marauder. "People don't get outta my way like they used to." But he said he just wasn't getting the performance he was looking for even after all the mods so........JEEP. (I really should let you explain yourself, Ed) Anyway, it was a pleasure to meet him and I wish him well with the new ride. Wouldn't be surprised if he "came back to the fold" down the line though! ;):burnout:

Good luck on the new ride. The step up in performance doesn't really make up for the step down in style, reliability, fuel economy, and rarity, but I hope it's good to you.
