When Zack swaped my engine over a year ago he mentioned a problem that never happened with me until today. The wipers will go on at random and it will be with a delay, but not with a setting. It will act like it's off for 30 seconds and give me a wipe and sometimes it will wipe every 3 seconds, all while the switch is in the off position. I tuned the switch on and off and messed with the wiper fuild button and even shut the car off at a red light. The only thing I haven't done is disconnect the battery because I left the tools at home.

Now the car overheats on a day like this which is 85 and very humid. It gets really hot when I have the A/C on just like the radiator is dirty. I have the intercooler in the front and it was a problem last year too. When I turn off the A/C the car will cool in 3 minutes or less to the middle temp where it should be. What gives?

I think it fuse #7 ????

Or was it #11????? Check the book.

Welcome to the wiper problem.

No know fix for this problem. I think it's time to sell it.

Dom, the A/C condenser is in front, then the transmission/PS cooler in the middle, then the radiator is to the rear of the "sandwich". If you've got any obstruction of airflow, the A/C condenser is just adding more heat and overloading the system. You may need to start taking things apart and checking for blocked airflow...

As to the w/w issue, I think that's known to be a bad wiring harness or pigtail or perhaps it was the motor itself...there are a bunch of posts about this issue.

Bob do you think moving the intercooler to the bottom by the license plate will help? I'm sure it might help the airflow, but will the blower still be as good?

Dom, I thought your intercooler was already mounted fairly low, but either way, I don't think that's your issue.

You say it gets hot when the A/C is on, and cools right down when it's off...that points to an airflow problem after the intercooler. Plus, I would think the I/C would only contribute to the heat load in a significant way when you were actually under boost. I still think it's something obstructing the airflow...apparently it's fairly common to get leaves, pine needles, etc in between the condenser and the radiator.

is your fan working? were you stopped or moving when it started to heat up?

This is after I have been drving the car for at least 30 minutes. If I can find time I'll remove the intercooler and see if anything is stuck by the radiator or something.

Remove the plastic cover (below the BIG Plastic cover) between the condenser and the radiator.
It will be filled with all kinds of air blocking crap that can be easily washed away with a garden hose.

Cool. Thank you very much.
