Anyone notice that the voltage drops at wide open throttle? I first noticed that the dash lights seemed dim after WOT usage. Then I decided to check the gauge. After a WOT to 80 mph the voltage read 12v.
Is there a clutch on the alternator like on the AC comp or is the coil on plug system doing this?

Yes, and it shuts down on WOT.

LML,
In Bermuda, the locals wear "Bermuda Shorts"...with hard-sole shoes, coats and ties, etc. (Dark Socks are mandatory as well)
