Anyone know of a good Speed Shop in Orlando? I got my S/C installed by Dennis in Jacksonville, but it isn't that practical to drive up to Jacksonville everytime I want something installed! I am looking to get 4.10 gears installed among other little things in the future.

Check the Mustang boards. Usually whomever works on Mustangs can work on a Marauder.

I second this ^ nomination. They recently fixed my engine tap - was just the timing wheel, thank god. Also, Jake LaMotta owns a silver birch MM. I am very happy with their work and honesty (they could have told me anything about the tap and I would have accepted it - dealer had already told me it was either a piston or bearing). Thanks again to John (oldekid) for telling me of his experience with them.

LaMotta is a professional, honest and reliable performance shop. They would get my business even if the were 3 hours away. :bows:Dennis

Why not? I do. 200+ miles.

I also recommend LaMotta! They installed my headers (custom work!) while Dennis Reinhart was in town at their shop prepping some 'stangs for a show! Next best thing to Dennis w/o leaving O-town.

Paul:

Can you give us some more details or perhaps a previous post on exactly how the timing wheel caused your engine tap??

Thanks,

Glenn :burnout:

here's my thread on the tapping: http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=43820

The relevant post is near the end, on page 3. Everything before that was symptoms and my inexperienced attempts at self-diagnosis. Apparently, my not having properly torqued the crankshaft pulley allowed it to come loose enough that the timing wheel could move around, and make a tapping sound.

All's quiet now. And I should be pretty damn well clean of any carbon build up I might have had. :o

A couple of my friends have had positive experiences with La Motta Performance, though I've never taken my car there.
